Dunfermline Athletic FC, passo decisivo dei tifosi verso un altro Community Club

Si avvicina il salvataggio da parte dei tifosi del Dunfermline Athletic FC dopo che gli amministratori straordinari della società, BDO e KPMG(amministratori straordinari rispettivamente per club e stadio), hanno raggiunto l'accordo con i creditori per la ristrutturazione del debito(CVA) che spiana la strada all' acquisizione del club da parte del collettivo Pars United che, attraverso la campagna BuyThePars, ha presentato la migliore offerta(dettagli qui).
La conclusione positiva si avrà solo dopo che saranno trascorsi i 28 giorni che sono a disposizione dei creditori per fare ricorso contro l'accordo per il debito, ipotesi lontana tanto che il Pars Supporters Trust, associazione di tifosi che fa parte del collettivo Pars United, celebra l'evento che apre la strada ad un nuovo Community Club(comunicato in basso).
L'attività dei tifosi per salvare il club, partita lo scorso autunno a seguito dell'emergere delle prime avvisaglie di difficoltà finanziarie, che hanno raggiunto quasi 10 milioni di sterline di debito(scese poi a circo 8) e alla successiva amministrazione controllata(volontaria) nel Marzo 2012, sembra volgere ad un esito positivo grazie al grande impegno che i supporters del club scozzese, decaduto nella Scottish Second Division, hanno messo in atto con l'azione congiunta della campagna BuyThePars(dettagli qui).
L' iniziativa  realizzata da Pars United, attraverso la piattaforma BuyThePars.org, con l'aiuto del Pars Supporters Trust(associazione di tifosi) e la collaborazione di  Supporters Direct Scotland, ente nato lo scorso anno(dettagli qui) che collabora e supporta oltre 30 Supporters Trust scozzesi, ha permesso di presentare un'offerta di 500.000 sterline con oltre 110.000 raccolte dai tifosi, 330.000 raccolte con forme di adesione riservate a imprenditori, attività locali e supporters più facoltosi a cui probabilmente si aggiungerà una buona parte di adesioni che attendevano l'esito positivo del CVA per unirsi alla causa di Pars United(altro qui).
L'accordo raggiunto consente al club di uscire dall'amministrazione controllata e di evitare la penalizzazione nella prossima stagione 2013/14 di 10 punti a cui era esposta se non si fosse trovata un'intesa con i creditori per la ristrutturazione del debito. L'acquisizione dovrebbe garantire la gestione quotidiana e i prossimi proprietari del club invitano continuare nel sostegno all'operazione sia con BuyThePars sia con la sottoscrizione degli abbonamenti stagionali mai decollati a causa dell'incerto futuro del club.

Today is a momentous day in the history of Dunfermline Athletic, thanks to our loyal fans. The announcement that the CVA has been agreed means that Pars United has won its bid for Dunfermline Athletic Football Club (assuming there are no appeals against today’s outcome over the next 28 days).
This is a hugely positive step in securing a successful future for our beloved club.
There is no doubt that the success of the Buy the Pars campaign went a long way to convince the Administrators that the Pars United bid had the full backing of the fans of DAFC, and your personal contributions allowed us to achieve a massive total which is currently sitting at £112,000. This was assuredly a defining factor in the Administrator’s decision to accept the bid from Pars United.
Since last October, when we first became aware of financial issues at DAFC, people have worked in so many different ways to help support the club through these difficult times.
Since Administration was announced in March, the fans have been supporting the club financially and by giving up free time to help throughout the working week and also on match days.
The increase in attendances at games was a major contributor in allowing the club to trade as normal throughout the Administration process.
The Administrator has often commented that he has not seen this level of commitment and togetherness at other clubs. This allowed DAFC to fulfil the 2012/13 season fixtures, resume payments to playing and non-playing staff and to continue to trade and pay day to day costs.
Unfortunately as part of the Administration process there are companies and individuals who lost out financially and we feel for every one of them.
We are however extremely grateful that many of these companies and individuals were very supportive by contributing either further finance or services for free during this time.
When the Buy the Pars campaign was launched, we were very aware that it came on the back of a time when fans had already donated to the Administrators’ fund and to the Staff Support Fund.
But you did not let the club down and it is you who have made the Buy the Pars campaign the success it has been. Individual donations have made up the majority of the £114,000 but there have also been the many fund raising ventures.
It is touching that people have donated money in memory of loved ones who were Pars Fans, while fans from other clubs around the country have also contributed to our cause. The whole community has been behind this campaign and we salute every one of you.
This is, however, only the start of a long recovery process for the club and we all need to continue to fund raise, to donate regularly and to attend games. As a Community Club we will have to work with Jim Jeffries and his team to ensure success on the field, and will also have to give something back to the community by being supportive of other community ventures.
