Un gruppo di attivisti che si rifanno al movimento Anonymous ha pubblicato ieri un altro video, nel quale viene intimato alle attività saudite di sospendere la condanna a morte del giovane Ali Mohammed al Nimr, di 21 anni.
Ad al Nimr è infatti stata comminata la pena capitale per crocifissione per aver partecipato ad una manifestazione, quando aveva ancora solo 16 anni, contro il governo dittatoriale dell’Arabia Saudita, tenutasi nella sua città natale Qatif, e per la diffusione di materiale inneggiante alla rivolta, ossia degli sms inviati a degli amici.
In seguito a questa decisione Anonymous ha lanciato una campagna per la liberazione del ragazzo mentre, contemporaneamente, i siti di diverse agenzie del governo saudita sono stati oggetto di attacchi hacker, tramite i quali, si dice nel video, sono state rubate oltre 8.800 tra e-mail, nomi utente e password.
La voce elettronica che fa da sottofondo al filmato, diffuso su YouTube, si rivolge ai cittadini di tutto il mondo, in particolare a re Salaman, il sovrano saudita, ed a tutto il suo governo, minacciando ritorsioni se la sentenza sarà eseguita.
Il comunicato incita inoltre tutti a sostenere, anche tramite i social network, la sospensione della condanna e ad incitare i media a raccontare la storia di un paese che, “alla guida del Consiglio Onu per i diritti umani, nel 2015, sta per crocifiggere un ragazzo”.

Il comunicato rilasciato dagli attivisti di Anonymous:
Hello Citizens of the world, we are anonymous. Over the past week Anonymous has attacked Saudi Arabian government websites with DDOS attacks and SQL injections. We have also dumped 8800 worth of data, including emails, passwords, and usernames. This is not the end of the operation; the operation will end once Ali Nimr is safe and free. Anonymous will continue to attack Saudi government websites until the young man is released. King Salman and Saudi Arabian Government, have you felt the wrath of Anonymous yet? You ignored our wishes and you were punished for your actions. More attacks will be followed. To the citizens of the world, Many people on twitter has said IRC is not safe, If you use a VPN and common sense you will be fine, do not give anyone information they do not need to know and you will be safe. All attacks are coordinated on IRC. We need you citizens of the world to help us spread the word and make the media report actual news; do you want a country that crucifies teenagers in the year 2015 to be head of the UN Human Rights. Ali Nimr has only a certain amount of time left so spread the word of OpNimr. We cannot allow the Saudi Government to kill him.
