Casola Valsenio e la Festa dei Frutti Dimenticati – Casola Valsenio and the Forgotten Fruit Fair

Come vi avevo annunciato nei precedenti post lo scorso weekend sono andata (per l’ennesima volta ) …alla Festa dei frutti dimenticati a Casola Valsenio in Romagna.

Sono stati giorni di relax, immersi nella natura e nelle atmosfere calde e autunnali che la festa regala, con i suoi colori, i suoi frutti ed i suoi profumi… profumi di frutta vera… di erbe aromatiche… di caldarroste e vin brulè! ;) Le bancarelle alla festa oltre a vendere i frutti dimenticati, vendono anche marmellate, liquori e altre cose buone fatte con questi meravigliosi frutti …io però, da amante del “fai da me” cerco di prendere spunti e di comprare solo la frutta fresca e non i prodotti finiti che poi magari cerco di fare una volta a casa!

Quando giro per le varie bancarelle mi verrebbe da comprare ogni frutto ma poi mi freno pensando che devo anche trovare il tempo per “trasformare” questa frutta in una qualche idea… marmellata o altro che sia!… così cerco di contenermi… anche perchè ho la fortuna, grazie all’amicizia che mi lega ai titolari dell’agriturismo in cui vado da anni, di poter immergermi tra i frutti dimenticati e di raccoglierne un bel po’ nel loro vasto terreno immerso tra le colline romagnole! Posti da sogno in cui amo girovagare e perdermi tra alberi, piante, erbe e tanta pace (cosa che bramo visto che lavoro in mezzo a tanta gente e tanta confusione)! Così sono tornata a casa con il seguente bottino:

- pere volpine (raccolte)
- pere scipione (raccolte)
- mele abbondanza (comprate)
- azzeruole (comprate)
- giuggiole (raccolte)
- rosa canina (raccolta)
- pere cotogne (super cesta regalatami dall’agriturismo)
- corniole (comprate)

Nei prossimi giorni cercherò di condividere pian piano un po’ di idee su come gustare questi deliziosi frutti autunnali, insieme a qualche info in più su di loro! Ora vi lascio un po’ di foto della festa e dei frutti raccolti e comprati!

…e cerchiamo di non dimenticarli ma di conoscerli queste meraviglie della natura! :)

As told you on previous posts, past weekend i’ve been visiting the Forgotten Fruit fair in Casola Valsenio in Romagna. They’ve been days of relax, good food, gorgeous nature and warm autumnal athmosphere that the fair creates… with its fruit, colours and perfumes… perfumes of the fruit… of the herbs… of roast chestnuts and mulled wine! ;) The stands at the fair they sell fruit but also jams, liqueurs and other products made with the forgotten fruit! … i love to buy the fresh fruit and then catch some ideas on what to do with them once back home… cos, as i love the “DIY” concept… i always prefer to think at what to make instead to buy a finished product!
Anyway, even if i wanted to buy all the fruit i’ve seen…i had to keep calm cos i also have to think that once back home i have to find time to cook everything and i also had with me all the fruit i personally picked up by the agritourism where i stayed! I know this agritourism since many years and there is a lovely friendship with the people that own it… it’s an amazing place immersed into Romagna hills and surrounded by nature, herbs, rivers, horses, sheeps… and of course forgotten fruit trees… therefore i had the chance to pick up some of these fruit and to have others as present from the owner of the agriturismo! So here is the list of my forgotten fruit “spoils”:

- volpine pears (picked up)
- scipione pears (picked up)
- abbondanza apples (bought)
- azeroles (bought)
- jujubes (picked up)
- rose hips (picked up)
- quince pears (huge basket given me by the agritourism)
- cornus berries (bought)

In next days i hope to share with you some recipes, ideas and extra information about all these fruit in the meantime i share with you some pics of the fair and the fruit… which i hope they’ll stop being forgotten but will be remembered instead!
