Bouquet of Roses in Sunlight…………………………………..Mazzo di rose alla luce del sole
Say that it is a crude effect, black reds,……………………..Dì che è un effetto grezzo, neri rossi,
Pink yellows, orange whites, too much as they are……….gialli rosa, bianchi arancio, troppo come sono
To be anything else in the sunlight of the room……………per esser altro alla luce del sole nella stanza
Too much as they are to be changed by metaphor,……….troppo come sono perché li cambi la metafora,
Too actual, things that in being real…………………………troppo attuali, cose talmente reali
Make any imaginings of them lesser things.……………….da impoverirsi nella mente che le pensa.
And yet this effect is a consequence of the way……………Eppure questo effetto è conseguenza
We feel and, therefore, is not real, except…………………..di come sentiamo, non è reale, se non nel senso
In our sense of it, our sense of the fertilest red,…………….che ne abbiamo, il senso del più fertile rosso,
