Fabriano, prima di essere un negozio strepitoso è la cartiera più famosa e storicamente importante e antica d'Italia. Fin dal XIII secolo Fabriano, cittadina marchigiana strategicamente vicina ad Ancona si impose come il più importante centro europeo di produzione della carta.
Questo probabilmente perché Ancona, essendo una città portuale, permetteva scambi commerciali con gli Arabi, i quali dopo aver imparato le tecniche rudimentali di fabbricazione della carta dalla Cina, perfezionarono e diffusero il prodotto nel mondo occidentale.

We are ready for another paper-stop on our tour in Milan.
Fabriano, it's an amazing store but above all it's the most famous, historically important and oldest paper mill in Italy. In the thirteenth century, Fabriano, a little town of Marche inland, conveniently close to Ancona emerged as the most important European center of paper production.
That is probably because Ancona, being a port city, allowed trade with the Arabs, who after learning the rudimentary techniques of making paper from China, perfected it and spread the product in the Western world.

Qui potrete trovare una cartoleria di altissimo livello dove cartoline, biglietti, quaderni sono già opere d'arte di per loro.

Meanwhile, we move over to the boutique in Milan, now in ViaPonte Vetero, 17 (CLICK HERE to see the map), in a beautiful area of Milan, in the Brera (art and theater district) and the Castello Sforzesco.
Here you will find a very high level of stationery where postcards, cards, notebooks are already works of art as such.

Non era possibile fotografare l'interno, quindi ho fotografato la vetrina e mi è stato poi dato il permesso di prendere le fotografie dell'interno dal loro (bel) sito internet.
Le vetrine erano ancora dell'umore di San Valentino, piene di cuori e racconti romantici.
It was not possible to take pictures from the inside, so I photographed the show-window and I was then given permission to take photographs of the interior from their (nice) web site.
The windows were still in the mood for Valentine's Day, full of hearts and love stories.

Nel negozio si può trovare di tutto e tutto quello che troverete sarà favoloso (ma, ancora una volta, con prezzi abbastanza alti)(qualcosa più, qualcosa meno) sia che sia in carta, che in lino, pelle, legno.
Questo porta matite da piccoli (e da grandi) non vi avrebbe fatto girare la testa?
Into this shop you can find anything and everything will find, will be fabulous (but, again, often for high prices)(something more, somethingless) even if that it will be in paper, linen, leather, wood.

Bellissimi anche i biglietti con immagini in 3D realizzate con striscioline di carta arrotolate. Ci sono con milioni di soggetti e sono tutti strepitosi! Da regalare a chi se ne intende ;).
The tickets with 3D images made with strips of paper rolled up are stunning. There are with millions different subjects and they are all sensational! You have to give them to someone keen on it ;).

Tra i loro prodotti, bellissima è la serie di taccuini rappresentanti 150 personaggi ritenuti importanti per l'Italia, prodotti per i 150 anni di Unità italiana (costano 3,40 €, quindi un prezzo più che umano). Un terzo dei taccuini sono sui toni del verde, un terzo sul bianco e un terzo sul rosso, così da creare un tricolore ogni 3.Da oggi con ogni 20 euro di spesa, uno è in regalo!
Ho recentemente comprato quello dedicato al primo Nobel Giulio Natta alla mia sorella ingegnere ;).
Among their products, there is the wonderful series of notebooks that represents 150 characters that had been important to Italy, produced for the 150th years of Italian Unity (they cost € 3.40for each, a human price). A third of the notebooks are in shades of green, a third in white and a third in red, so as to create the flag every 3 notebooks.
Now with every 20 euro spent, one is free!
I recently bought to my engineer sister the one dedicated to the Nobel Prize Giulio Natta ;).

Poi personalmente, adoro la serie dedicata all'Opera lirica: ventagli, libretti, segnalibri, taccuini e taccuini musicali. Se dovessi mai avere la fortuna di andare a La Scala a vederne una, mi regalerei il libretto (8.50 €) o il ventaglio Fabriano.Non solo la loro qualità di carta è molto alta, ma anche la scelta degli illustratori è molto sapiente.
And personally, I love the series devoted to Opera: fans, booklets, bookmarks, notebooks, and musical notes. If I'll ever be so lucky to go to La Scala to see one, I'll give to myself the booklet (8.50 €) or the fan by Fabriano.Not only the quality of paper is very high, but also the choice of illustrators is very wise.
