Il Bolton Wanderers Supporters' Trust accoglie positivamente il passaggio di proprietà ed è pronto a collaborare

E' in via di definizione il passaggio di proprietà del Bolton Wanderers FC a Dean Holdsworth, ex giocatore e rappresentante del gruppo dedicato ai servizi finanziari, Sports Shield, ieri il club ha comunicato di aver ricevuto l'aggiornamento di 14 giorni dell'udienza di fronte alla HM Revenue and Customs che ha intrapreso un'azione legale contro il club per ritardi nei pagamenti all'erario(qui dettagli).
L'aggiornamento arriva a seguito delle ultime trattative in via di conclusione per il passaggio della società, fortemente indebitata e a rischio retrocessione dalla Championship inglese, dall'attuale proprietario Eddie Davies al consorzio della Sports Shield che dovrebbe stanziare per la gestione corrente circa 7,5 milioni di sterline per condurre a conclusione il campionato e definire un piano per la gestione dei debiti, che in gran parte potrebbero essere ridotti con un accordo con Davies.
“Bolton Wanderers can announce that the club has today been given an adjournment of 14 days by the high court in order to conclude a deal with the Sports Shield consortium in taking ownership of the club. The club were represented by Trevor Birch and board member Richard Gee at the hearing in London on Monday.”
Il Bolton Wanderers Supporters' Trust(qui dettagli), associazione di tifosi nata negli ultimi mesi per formare un fronte comune dei tifosi nel tentativo di essere coinvolti nel salvataggio(qui dettagli), ha accolto favorevolmente l'annuncio della definizione della trattativa, soggetta ora ù all'approvazione da parte dalla Football League, che scongiura la possibile procedura di amministrazione controllata, inevitabile se non si fosse concretizzato il passaggio di consegne, ed ora in via di probabile risoluzione nell'udienza del 7 marzo prossimo.

Il comitato guida del Supporters' Trust, che ha avuto modo di avere contatti diretti con Holdsworth nel corso della procedura di selezione delle offerte per rilevare il club giunte all'advisor della società Trevor Birch, auspica una possibile collaborazione ed un dialogo aperto con i nuovi proprietari, per ricostruire il legame tra società e tifosi, e si prepara alle prossime elezioni del gruppo direttivo, per definire il primo board ufficiale del collettivo. STATEMENT: BWFCST Welcome Dean Holdsworth & Sports Shield
BWFCST Steering Group would like to congratulate Dean Holdsworth and Sports Shield Consortium on their successful acquisition of BWFC, subject to approval from the Football League, and welcome Dean back to Bolton. BWFC supporters will have fond memories of Dean’s time with our club and hope that the new regime can galvanise all parties in pulling together and achieving the stability and success that we all crave.
Undoubtedly, supporters will ask what this now means for the BWFCST. Suffice it to say that Dean has already reached out to the Trust and has had early contact with the Steering Group regarding the establishment of a positive relationship. To see the owner and Supporters’ Trust working together towards achieving success both on and off the field should be viewed as a positive and is hopefully the start of a new chapter in the long and proud history of our club.
The Steering Group will continue to work towards full establishment of the BWFCST whilst now looking towards developing a positive and effective relationship to assist and encourage the club’s new owner wherever possible. This relationship will always be with the primary aim of providing a democratic and representative voice for the BWFC supporters and strengthening the bonds between the club and the communities which it serves. The value of BWFC in the wider Bolton community is a vital part of the success of that community and the BWFCST will look towards achieving the greatest possible supporter and community influence in the running and ownership of the club.
