Il roseto di Roma

Ecco un post su un luogo da non perdere: il roseto di Roma. Piccolo, raccolto, ma anche segreto e, come molti altri posti in questa città, con una vista magnifica. Nonostante le scarse dimensioni è uno dei più prestigiosi roseti al mondo e ospita annualmente un premio, il premio Roma (che fantasia-.-), assegnato alle rose più belle (quest' anno vinto da una seducente francesina).
Il roseto si trova sopra il circo massimo, in un luogo che fu la sede del cimitero ebraico fino agli anni '30: ancora oggi una delle due sue sezioni ha la pianta di una menorrah!
é aperto da inizio maggio a metà giugno, ma visitatelo a maggio (alla fine del mese c'è il concorso), quando le rose sono nel loro periodo più bello!
Rome has a little secret very close to her (Rome is a woman, know it) heart, with a magnificent view: the rose garden. It is not so big, but is one of the most prestigious of the world and each year hosts a famous prize, the "Premio Roma" to the most beautiful roses (this year it was won by a charming French).
The garden is over the Circo Massimo, on the place that was, 'till the '30s, the seat of the jewish cementery: still today one of the two parts of the garden has the plan of a menorrah!
It is open from may to june, but the best to do is to visit it at the end of may, just after the contest.

Tra le rose da ricordare la Chinensis viridiflora (dal piccolo fiore verde!), o la Phoetida che, come mette in guardia il nome, è puzzolente quanto bella. Ogni tanto il roseto riapre a fine estate, se le rose rifioriscono.
Among the roses we can remember there's the Chinensis viridiflora, with a little green flower, or the Phoetida: as the name says it's as smelly as beautiful. Some times it may happen that the garden opens again at the end of the summer, if the roses blossom again.
