abbiamo un sacco di cuscini nel salotto (compresi un paio dei miei 100% recuperati) e i bimbi li usano spesso a giocare. li mettevano spesso anche per terra per sederci o straiarci sopra. (ha! ho appena notato che la fascia per i capelli è della stessa stoffa del cuscino sotto i piedi!) ho visto l'idea di fare dei lettini da terra con i guanciali in diversi posti (e guardate quanto costa comprarli!!) e mi sembrava perfetto per i miei figli.
we have a bunch of pillows in our living room (including a couple of my 100% upcycled ones) and the kids often play with them. and they often put them on the floor to sit or lie down on. (ha! i just noticed that sofia's headband is made from the same fabric as the pillow under her feet!) i saw the idea to make floor beds from bed pillows in different places (and just look how much they cost!!) and it seemed perfect for my kids.

i managed to find quite a few used duvet covers with pretty cool fabric for €2 each. here are the first four that i used to make this project for my kids and some others as well.
per prima si deve tagliare la stoffa in modo che ci entrano quattro cucini uno dopo l'altro. poi, se ci sono aperture per infilare il piumino, si devo cucire per chiuderle. in questo ho deciso di lasciare i bottoni che erano in buone condizioni e mi sembravano interessante esteticamente.
first you have to cut the fabric to the right size so that four pillows can sit side-by-side. then, if there are any openings to slip in the duvet, you need to sew them closed. on this one, i decided to leave the buttons because they were in good shape and i thought they added some visual appeal.
si deve cucire tutto il bordo tagliato aperto, o con la macchina tagliacuci o piegandolo e cucendo normalmente. poi si fanno le divisioni. facendo questa parte, ho iniziato dal lato chiuso e, quando sono arrivata al lato aperto, piegavo l'orlo verso l'interno e ho cucito fino al bordo. poi ho aggiunto di bottoncini a pressione di plastica ad intervalli regolari per chiuderlo.
you need to sew the cut-open side either with a serger or just turning under and stitching closed. then you make the divisions. for this part i started at the closed side and, when i arrived close to the open side, i'd fold the hem inwards and then sewed down to the edge. then i added some plastic snaps at regular intervals to keep it closed.
dopo aver visto questo post di sheri, ho deciso di usare questi cuscini economici di ikea per imbottirlo. o, se sei super recuperosa, potresti anche usare pezzi di stoffa/vestiti che non servono più e chiuderlo completamente cucendolo, come ha spiegato elisa in questo libro è un abat jour (che ho recensito qui). non l'ho fatto così perché poi sarebbe diventato troppo pesante per far giocare i bimbi (come sono diventati i miei pouf recuperati) e poi dovevo anche farne diversi per regali.
after having seen this post of sheri's, i decided to use these cheap ikea pillows to stuff them. or, if you're a super upcycler, you could also use scrap fabric or clothes that you don't need anymore and sew it completely shut, as elisa explained in questo libro è un abat jour (which i reviewed here). i didn't do it this way because then it would've become too heavy for the kids to play with (like my recuperated poufs) and in any case i had to make several for gifts.
si possono tenere distesi completamente o piegare sotto una estremità come cuscino o usare in tanti modi. (ma è difficile scattarci delle foto decenti perché sono grandi!)
you can keep them completely stetched out or fold one end under like a pillow or use in all sorts of other ways. (but it's hard to take a decent picture of them because they're big!)
e ora viene il bello: guardare come i bimbi li usano! ci si può rotolare...
and here's the fun part: watching how the kids use them! you can roll on them...

p.s. avete notato che mia figlia è disperatamente pollice-dipendente? ora stanno uscendo i denti grandi sopra e mi preoccupo molto perché non riesco a farla smettere!! chi ha qualche consiglio per me?!?!
p.s. have you noticed that my daughter is hopelessly thumb-addicted? her permanent upper teeth are starting to come out and i'm considerably worried about it because i can't get her to stop!! do any of you have any advice for me?!?!
