Magnum Opus 750

A very personal intepretation of a 1982 CB750K by Magnum Opus Custom Bikes in Wilmington - North Carolina (USA)


When Magnum found this bike it only had 6000 miles on the clock. Nevertheless, it's been completely overhauled. Starting from the front, the callipers were rebuilt. For a better feeling and less effort when braking, the master cylinder and lever are from a Suzuki Hayabusa. Forks legs were painted black to match the new colour scheme. The instruments were replaced with a minimalistic speedo mounted on a custom made bracket. A black clubman handlebar with new Biltwell cafè grips were added. The electrics were revised. A new virtually invisible ignition switch was installed on the headlight bracket. CBR F2 ignition coils were mounted. The choke was relocated on the bottom of the gas tank. The old airbox was replaced with POD filters and the carburetors were cleaned, subject to rejetting and properly tuned. The custom exhausts are straight pipes without baffles. The new cafe racer seat is coffee bean color. The shocks were replaced. The new LED tail lights, blinkers and stop light, are installed under the seat. New custom made steel side covers were cut from a steel sheet. 



Quando Magnum ha trovato questa moto aveva solo 6.000 miglia sul contachilometri. L’ha comunque completamente revisionata. Partendo dalla parte anteriore, le pinze freno sono state ricostruite. Per una miglior sensibilità e minor sforzo in frenata, pompa freno e leva sono state sostituite con elementi Suzuki Hayabusa. Gli steli forcella sono stati verniciati di nero per abbinarsi alla nuova livrea. Gli strumenti sono stati sostituiti con un tachimetro minimalista montato su una staffa artigianale. Il manubrio è stato sostituito con un clubman nero e montate manopole Biltwell. L'impianto elettrico è stato rivisto. Un nuovo interruttore di accensione pressoché invisibile è stato installato sulla staffa faro. Sono state montate bobine CBR F2. Il comando dell’aria è stato trasferito sotto al serbatoio. Il vecchio airbox è stato sostituito con filtri conici e i carburatori sono stati puliti, i getti cambiati e la carburazione adeguata. Gli scarichi artigianali sono completamente liberi. La sella cafe racer è color caffè. Gli ammortizzatori sostituiti. Le nuove luci posteriori a LED, indicatori di direzione e stop, sono stati installati nel sottocoda. Le tabelle portanumero sono state ricavate artigianalmente da un foglio di acciaio.
