Another good weekend for Manchester United as they stretch there lead to a surely unasailable 12 points with 12 games to go. United responded on sunday by comfortably seeing off Everton at Old Trafford with the ageless Ryan Giggs netting for the 23rd league season in a row in a 2-0 win that drops Everton down to 6th. Chelsea got back to winning ways with an easy 4-1 win over struggling Wigan at Stamford Bridge. that keeps them a point ahead of 4th placed Tottenham after they saw off Newcastle 2-1 at White Hart Lane with yet another 2 goals from the brilliant Gareth Bale. The race for 3rd and 4th is hotting up tho with Arsenal’s return to form continuing as they ground out a 1-0 win at Sunderland thanks to Santi Cazorla and a superb goalkeeping display from Szczesny in the final half hour after the gunners were reduced to 10 men, they move up to 5th and 4 points behind Spurs. Swansea are up to 7th as they piled more misery on Qpr with a 4-1 home win with 2 more goals for Michu that leaves Qpr 7 points from safety. Stoke earned there first win of the new year with a 2-1 home win over Reading and stay 10th , Reading drop back into the bottom 3.
