Questa sera vi lascio un post veloce, a sfondo scozzese, prendendo spunto da quanto ho trovato su Facebook. Era da un po’ che seguivo la pagina ufficiale ed ero rimasta molto colpita dalle foto caratteristiche e particolari che di continuo vi compaiono; stasera, complice l’info in cui sono incappata, sono andata a visitare il sito Edinburgh spotlight e ho scoperto che esiste anche il blog.
Pensato per puntare il riflettore sulla capitale scozzese (lo “spotlight” è proprio il cono di luce creato da un riflettore), questo sito è realizzato e curato da locali che vogliono far conoscere tutti gli aspetti più caratteristici di Edimburgo non solo ai turisti, ma anche ai residenti. Oltre a dare informazioni di carattere generale sulla città, il sito offre tanti spunti interessanti sulle cose da fare e vedere (inclusi dei suggerimenti sulle attrattive completamente gratuite della città), sui festival ospitati nella capitale, sulle attività cui dedicarsi fuori porta e sulle uscite in giornata che possono portarvi alla scoperta dei dintorni di Edimburgo. Se volete sapere dove mangiare o in quale caffè ristorarvi dopo una passeggiata per Royal Mile, non potete perdervi le utili recensioni della sezione “Food & Drink” e se vi viene voglia di una serata a teatro potete scoprire quali spettacoli sono in scena consultando la sezione “Entertainment”.
Il sito è senz’altro da tenere presente per organizzare la prossima visita alla capitale, ma è da tenere in considerazione anche per il concorso che ha lanciato oggi in collaborazione con Scottish Hampers. Nata come estensione di un’azienda alimentare, Scottish Hampers è una ditta specializzata nella realizzazione di ceste con prodotti agro-alimentari tipici del territorio. Che dire? I’m gonna write a quick post tonight, actually a Scottish one, after getting the idea on Facebook. I’ve been following the official fan page for a while and I’ve been very much affected by the distinctive pictures that are constantly uploaded; starting from the info I’ve got to know earlier, tonight I went and visited the Edinburgh spotlight website and found out that there exist the homonymous blog as well.
Thought as to getting the spotlight pointed on the Scottish capital, this website has been designed and maintained by locals for tourists and residents alike to get to know each and every part of the beautiful Edinburgh. Besides giving general information about the city, the website offers many interesting hints on what to see and do (including suggestions on completely free sites), festivals taking place in the city, as well as outdoor activities and day trips you may wish to enjoy while there. If you would like to get info on where to eat or which café have a rest in after a walk on Royal Mile, don’t miss the useful reviews on the “Food & Drink” section. The same, if you are willing to spend an evening going to theatre you can check what’s on where consulting the section “Entertainment” before going out.
Of course the website must be taken into consideration while planning next visit to the capital, but it is worth surfing also for the competition it has just launched in collaboration with Scottish Hampers. Developed from a Scottish food business, this is specialized in gift hampers made with quality food and drink products from all over Scotland. I’d very much love getting honorary membership there… Anyway, you’ll have time until February 17 to win one of the precious hampers offered by Scottish Hampers: you’ll just need to follow the instructions given on Edinburgh spotlight.
