Rotondo

So, last weekend I was in Bergamo/Sarnico [an elegant little city of 6.559 inhabitants, according to Wikipedia] at Corpoc lab to screenprint Rotondo, a booklet I previosly tried to print with a Gocco PG-10 printer.

What happend with the Gocco? Well, maximum size for a print is more or less 10×15, but I thought I could try to fold the pages first, and print each page separately. No. It gets messy, the sheet moves and it’s really difficult to have the whole sequence printed properly. So with the Gocco I had to abandon the idea of a booklet and opt for a serie of sequential postcards, which are really nice, but are not what I wanted to do [but I love my Gocco, I don't want you to misunderstand, she is great, and lovely, and adorable, it was just my fault!].

Thus I asked Andrea if I could go to his lab and screenprint Rotondo – furthermore, I haven’t had any screenprint course at IED, and I really wanted to learn how to do it.

So, here is Rotondo, in 60 copies, printed on 160 gr Favini paper. I will soon take some pictures too, since these are by Andrea.

Lo scorso weekend aro a Bergamo/sarnico [un'elegante cittadina di 6.559 abitanti, secondo Wikipedia] al laboratorio di Corpoc per serigrafare Ropondo, il libriccino che avevo provato a stampare con la Gocco.

Cos’è successo con la Gocco? Che la massima misura di stampa è circa 10X15, però io ho voluto provare a piegare prima le pagine e poi stamparle singolarmente. Ecco, no. Si fa confusione, il foglio si muove ed è quasi impossibile fare bene tutte le stampe del libretto. Quindi in quel caso ho dovuto optare per una serie di cartoline sequenziali, carine, ma non quello che volevo fare.

Perciò per stampare il libretto ho chiesto ospitalità ad Andrea, anche perchè allo IED non c’è il corso di serigrafia, e io volevo imparare.

Quindi, questo è Rotondo in 60 copie stampate su carta Favini da 160 gr. Prestò farò delle foto anch’io, visto che queste sono di Andrea.
