Scomparso Lelio Luttazzi

Il maestro e compositore Lelio Luttazzi è morto la scorsa notte nella sua casa, a Trieste. Aveva 87 anni e soffriva da tempo di una neuropatia. Fu tra i primi a portare il jazz in Italia, dove è sempre stato considerato il “maestro dello swing”. Tra i tantitissimi successi, “Una zebra a pois” scritta per Mina. A Sanremo con Arisa la sua ultima apparizione pubblica. Il corpo sarà cremato e le sue ceneri sparse in mare, nel golfo di Trieste.Buon musicista, pianista innamorato del jazz, Luttazzi è stato un personaggio dall’umor discreto che ha visto interrompersi bruscamente la sua parabola artistica quando è rimasto coinvolto in una vicenda di droga dai contorni mai chiariti della quale è risultato in un primo tempo responsabile di colpe che non erano tutte sue. Questo episodio, insieme all’atteggiamento di alcuni colleghi che gli erano più vicini e che certo non lo hanno aiutato in quel momento così difficile, ha spinto Luttazzi ad una volontà di esilio dalla quale è uscito soltanto raramente per qualche piccola rentréé con alcuni musicisti amici.E’ stato uno dei personaggi di maggior successo della canzone italiana degli anni 50 e 60 ma soprattutto un protagonista della televisione, dell’epoca d’oro di Studio Uno, della radio e del cinema. Tra i primi ad inserire nella canzone italiana le strutture del jazz, un modo di comporre ’swingato’ che ha il suo primo esempio in “Muleta mia”, una canzone scritta per Teddy Reno. Ma, rimanendo nell’ambito musicale, i titoli delle composizioni di Luttazzi comprendono “Una zebra a pois”, cantata da Mina, “Il giovanotto matto”, il classico di Ernesto Bonino, “Il favoloso Gershwin”, “Promesse di marinaio” fino a quella che rimane la sua interpretazione più famosa e nostalgica, “El can de Trieste”.Luttazzi è cresciuto nella stagione in cui nascevano la radio e la televisione moderne e, come tanti altri suoi colleghi, aveva iniziato la sua carriera nella rivista teatrale dove aveva scritto le musiche soprattutto per i testi di Scarnicci e Tarabusi come “Barbanera bel tempo si spera” con Ugo Tognazzi ed Elena Giusti, “Tutte donne meno io” con Macario e Carla Del Poggio nella quale era inserita la celebre “Souvenir d’Italie”.Luttazzi apparteneva a quella figura tipica della televisione, del musicista con capacità comiche ed intrattenitore, un ruolo che lo ha portato a condurre programmi come “Ieri e Oggi”, “Studio Uno”, “Il Paroliere”. Probabilmente l’apice della popolarità lo ha toccato grazie ad “Hit Parade” uno dei più longevi programmi radiofonici, uno dei primi esempi italiani di trasmissione dedicata alle classifiche trattate con lo spirito del varietà.L’annuncio con il titolo dilatato (“Hiiiiiit Parade!!”) come in uno spettacolo di Broadway è rimasto nella memoria del pubblico italiano che seguiva la radio negli anni 60-70. Così come molti suoi colleghi dell’epoca, Lelio Luttazzi ha frequentato molto anche il cinema, scrivendo colonne sonore e partecipando anche come attore. Nel primo ruolo ha firmato anche alcuni film di Totò come il celebre “Totò, Peppino e la Malafemmina” o “Totò lascia o raddoppia?”.  La sua più conosciuta apparizione di attore è del 1965 nell’ “Ombrellone” di Dino Risi.
