Ecco come fare uno scudo d'amore :Amare i propri nemici , non è provare per loro un sentimento ch'é innaturale , dato che il contatto di un nemico ci fa battere il cuore d'una maniera ben differente di quella che si prova per un amico .Ma è di non provare per loro , nè rabbia , nè rancore , nè desiderio di vendetta ; è di perdonare loro senza riserve e senza condizioni il male che ci fanno ; è di non porre ostacoli alla riconciliazione , e di tendere loro una mano in caso di bisogno ;  è di desiderare loro tutto il bene possibile ; è di essere contenti dei loro progressi ; è di cercare di non sottolineare i loro lati negativi ma rialzare quelli positivi  ( ci devono pur essere ) : è quindi di retribuire il male con il bene , senza umiliare . Certo è difficile , specialmente se gli attacchi sono continui , potremmo essere fraintesi e considerati delle "pappemolli ", ma in realtá questa é la nostra forza .( Liberamente tradotto da Allan Kardec "il Vangelo secondo lo Spiritismo " )

Here how to make a shield of love :To love enemies does not mean showing affection which would be unnatural, as contact with an enemy makes our heart beat in an entirely different manner tothe way it beats next to a friend. To love enemies means we should not hate, nor bear rancour against them, nor desire vengeance. It means to forgive all the evil they have causedwithout hidden thoughts and conditions. It means not to put obstacles in the way of areconciliation and to wish them well, instead of bad things. It is to feel joy, instead of regret, at thegood things that may come their way; to help them whenever possible and to abstain by words oracts from everything which might prejudice them.
