The Eighties of Helen LevittThe most common phobias are not rational, fueled by terroristic media campaigns. The American photographer Helen Levitt loved to explore the streets and the courtyards of New York, among the children of the working class. She drew timeless glimpses of humanity, that sort of absolute truth that only the spontaneous poses give the photo shoot. Children were playing, not aware of the presence of the photographer. The courtyards and the streets were full of children, was New York, it was the Eighties. It seems a century ago: today's children spend their time locked at home, even in summer. Because their parents are afraid.
