The Moscow Rat Army

Despite the fact that customized Ducati Monsters are quite common, in my opinion only a very limited number of them can be properly considered excellent cafe racers. And if we talk about the latest version of Monster Evo, the matter is even more complicated. This awesome build, born from the cooperation of three eminent characters of the Moskow custom scene (Timokhin Custom Design-TCD, Fitil DMC and GRHV), is clearly one of the successful tries. Not by chance, it awarded the 6th place in the class"Freestyle" at the 2015 Moscow Custom & Tuning Show.
Nonostante le trasformazioni su base Ducati Monster siano abbastanza comuni, a mio parere, solo poche possono essere correttamente considerate eccellenti cafe racer. E se si parla dell'ultima versione della Monster Evo, la questione è ancora più complicata. Questa straordinaria realizzazione, nata dalla collaborazione di tre eminenti personaggi della scena custom moscovita (Timokhin Custom Design-TCD, Fitil DMC e GRHV), è chiaramente un tentativo di successo. Non per nulla si è guadagnato il 6 ° posto Nella categoria "Freestyle" al Moscow Custom & Tuning Show di quest’anno. 

The project was aimed to obtain a special bike inspired by the classic Ducati Monsters maintaining all the electronic facilities of the modern versions. The design is characterized by clean lines, based on the red frame, the new aluminum tank and the dry clutch. The original frame was fully redesigned in its rear end, obtaining a single structure. The indicators and tail light have been integrated into it. The fuel tank has been hand made in aluminum, equipped with a new gas cap and finished with a layer of transparent lacquer. The swingarm has been replaced with a single sided arm of a S4RS. This has been integrated with the suspension unit, with the spring painted black, hinged directly on the rear cylinder to which has been given a structural bearing role. The stock forks have been black anodized. The new seat is upholstered with punched leather and custom built on an aluminum body. The engine has not been changed, but equipped with a STM dry clutch. The airbox has been removed and new K&N high flow pods installed. The brakes have been improved with new calipers. The new front light is LED. The Motogadget instrument has been installed safeguarding the original electronics. The new raised clip-on’s are adjustable and the grips are by Rizoma. New rear sets were also installed for the final racing touch.
Il progetto è stato finalizzato ad ottenere una special ispirata ai classici Ducati Monster, mantenendo però tutta l’elettronica delle versioni moderne. Il design è caratterizzato da linee pulite, basate sul telaio rosso, il nuovo serbatoio in alluminio e la frizione a secco. Il telaio originale è stato integralmente riprogettato nella sua parte posteriore, ottenendo un’unica struttura. Al suo interno sono stati integrati gli indicatori di direzione e la luce posteriore. Il serbatoio è stato realizzato a mano in alluminio, dotato di un nuovo bocchettone e finito con uno strato di lacca trasparente. Il forcellone è stato sostituito con un monobraccio di derivazione S4RS. Su questo è stato integrato il monoammortizzatore, con la molla verniciata di nero, incernierato direttamente sul cilindro posteriore a cui è stato conferito un ruolo portante. La forcella originale è stata anodizzata in nero. La nuova sella artigianale è in pelle traforata ed è stata realizzata su una scocca in alluminio. Il motore non ha subito modifiche, ma è stato dotato di una frizione a secco STM. L’airbox è stato rimosso e sono stati installati nuovi filtri conici K&N ad alto flusso. I freni sono stati migliorati con nuove pinze. Il faro anteriore è a led. La strumentazione Motogadget è stata installata salvaguardando le dotazioni elettroniche originali. I nuovi semimanubri alti sono regolabili e le manopole sono Rizoma. Le nuove pedane sono arretrate per una guida più sportiva.
