Zanzibar

 
Un antico proverbio Masai recita: "Trattiamo bene la terra su cui viviamo: essa non ci è stata donata dai nostri padri, ma ci è stata prestata dai nostri figli."Zanzibar, dal persiano zanji, terra dei neri, fa parte della Repubblica unita della Tanzania, anche se ancora oggi rivendica a gran voce la sua indipendenza.Il territorio di Zanzibar é un arcipelago di sabbia bianca composto da due isole principali: l´isola di Zanzibar e Pemba, situate nell´oceano indiano e separate dal continente da soli 40 km, che costituiscono il canale di Zanzibar.
An old Masai´s proverb  says: "We treat the earth well we live: it was given to us not by our fathers, but there has been paid by our children."
Zanzibar, from the Persian Zanji, land of the blacks, is part of the United Republic of Tanzania, although still claiming loudly its independence.The territory of Zanzibar is an archipelago of white sand made ​​up of two main islands: the island of Zanzibar and Pemba, located in the Indian Ocean and separated from the mainland by only 40 km, the channel of Zanzibar.
 
A Zanzibar, se si esclude il turismo unico mezzo di sostentamento "moderno", sembra che il tempo si sia fermato.
Grazie ai frutti ricchissimi della terra e del mare, gli zanzibarini traggono la maggior parte del sostentamento necessario, anche se la maggior parte della popolazioni vive abbondantemente sotto la soglia della povertá.
Eppure questa popolazione colorata e gioviale vive alla giornata al solo suono dell "Hakuna Matata" (senza pensieri).

In Zanzibar, apart from tourism only "modern" means of livelihood, it seems that time has stopped.
Thanks to the rich fruits of the earth and the sea, Zanzibar derive most of the support needed, although the majority of the population lives well below of the threshold of poverty.
Yet this population colorful and joyful lives hand to mouth at the mere sound of "Hakuna Matata" (no worries).



Queste foto scattate sulla spiaggia di Kendwa durante la bassa marea, ritraggono la vita quotidiana della popolazione del villaggio dei pescatori.
Grazie al ritiro temporaneo delle acque gli uomini si dedicano alla pesca mentre le donne impegnate a lavare panni e tappeti, raccolgono le alghe che utilizzeranno per la creazione di tinture all´ hennè.
