Even more disconcerting is the fact that several societies, specifically China and India, look toward the United States as a model for acquiring material possessions.
[questo "even more" gia' mi lascia perplessa... ok, China e India guardano al modello americano, ma questo non mi sembra cosi' sconcertante... poi continua:]
Needless to say, the populations of those two countries alore far exceed that of the United States, and the Earth's remaining resources will not be able to satisfy those additional demands if they were to consume at our current rate."
[quindi il problema e' che India e China sono troppo popolose e vogliono consumare allo stesso ritmo degli USA? la mia impressione e' che chi ha scritto questo libro voglia togliersi le responsabilita' di dosso... anziche' criticare gli altri forse bisognerebbe fare un po' piu' di auto-analisi... se gli USA non consumassero cosi' tanto forse ora staremmo tutti un po' meglio :-)]
