(ENG) The first Chan Marshall's album (a.k.a. Cat Power) is very poor in the means and thin in the contents. For most of the time it seems to listen to an unwilling Brian McMahan who strums in his own way to some Velvet Underground less successful songs. The repetitive minimalism of tracks such as Great expectation bores more than disturbing. The most interesting song is the Velvet-ian ballad Still in love, and the fact that it's a cover (Hank Williams) speaks volumes about the quality of this album.
