Per lo sciroppo:
- 250 ml di acqua
- 150 g zucchero semolato
- 250 ml succo di limone
- 1 litro di acqua fredda
It seems like we are going to face a thunderstorm so I want to fight the bad weather with the quintessential summer drink: lemonade!
I like all citrus fruit, lemon, however, is my favorite because of the bright colors and the fact that it goes perfectly with both sweet and savory preparation. I good squeeze of lemon juice on fried food is one of the flavors that I most like. But I’m digressing, let’s go back to this simple and delicious drink. There also is a "pink" version of lemonade that has strawberries infused in the syrup, but this time we will make the original lemonade just like grandmothers used to make.
For the syrup:
• 250 ml water
• 150 g caster sugar
For the lemonade:
• 250 ml lemon juice
• 1 liter cold water
Prepare the syrup by putting the sugar and water in a saucepan, melt the sugar over moderate heat, stirring until the syrup becomes transparent. Remove from heat and let cool.
Meanwhile, squeeze the lemons, I used 4 of them to get 250 ml of juice, add the sugar syrup to it. Put in a large pitcher and add the remaining water to dilute. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
