Il Chelsea continua a mantenere la leadership della Premier League dopo il successo sull’Arsenal (2-0) allo Stamford Bridge, con Hazard a segno dal dischetto e Costa a fissare il punteggio finale, che chiude l’imbattibilità stagionale dei Gunners e lascia i Blues come unica squadra imbattuta dopo 7 gare. L’undici di Mourinho appare irresistibile al momento e guida la classifica con 5 punti di vantaggio, l’Arsenal scende all’8° posto.
Il Manchester City è 2° e rimane in scia dopo il 2-0 sull’Aston Villa; ci pensano Toure e Aguero a infliggere la terza sconfitta di seguito ai Villans che scendono al 10° posto.
Il Southampton rimane 3° nonostante la sconfitta di misura con il Tottenham, ora 6° grazie alla marcatura di Eriksen.
Il Manchester United (4°) continua la sua marcia di avvicinamento al podio, dopo la vittoria per 2-1 sull’Everton all’Old Trafford. Eroe di giornata De Gea con due formidabili interventi a salvare il risultato, impreziosito soprattutto dal primo gol in maglia RedDevils di Falcao. Pena una partenza lentissima, l’Everton è ora solo 17°.
Lo Swansea è invece 5°, dopo il pareggio 2-2 a cui l’ha costretto il Newcastle; doppietta per Cisse nell’undici di Alan Pardew che rimane comunque in un anonimo 18° posto.
Il West Ham continua sulle ali dell’entusiasmo ad incamerare punti, grazie al 2-0 casalingo sul QPR, raggiungendo una brillantissima 7° posizione; altra pessima prestazione invece per gli Hoops relegati ora al fondo classifica.
Il Liverpool torna a una sofferta vittoria casalinga (2-1) contro il West Bromwich, con marcature di Lallana e Henderson. Reds noni, West Brom quattordicesimi.
L’Hull City raggiunge l’11° posizione, grazie al 2-0 sul Crystal Palace, goal di Diame e Jelavic. Il Palace scende al 15° posto.
Finisce 2-2 al Walkers tra Leicester e Burnley, in un confronto molto divertente; ospiti che ottengono un sofferto punto solo in overtime, grazie a un fantastico calcio da fermo di Wallace che li trascina fuori dal fondo classifica, Leicester 12°.
Infine allo Stadium of Light il Sunderland (13°) ottiene una bellissima vittoria sullo Stoke City (16°) per 3-1 con goal di Wickham e doppietta di Fletcher.
La Premier League ora si ferma per lasciar spazio alla nazionale.
Il prossimo turno regalerà match di spessore col Manchester City che farà visita al Tottenham, Il Chelsea che incrocerà il Crystal Palace, e il Manchester United che sarà ospite del West Bromwich.

Chelsea continue to set the pace in the premier league after beating Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge with Hazard netting from the spot and Costa sealing the win late on to end the Gunners unbeaten start and leave the Blues as the only unbeaten side left after 7 games , Mourinho, s side are looking irresistible and stay 5 points clear at the top , Arsenal fall to 8th.
Manchester City are 2nd and kept in touch with a 2-0 win at Aston Villa as Toure and Aguero scored late on to inflict a 3rd straight defeat on Villa who drop to 10th. Southampton stay 3rd despite a 1-0 defeat at Tottenham as Eriksen netted the only goal to lift Spurs up to 6th. Manchester United are up to 4th after beating Everton 2-1 at Old Trafford but were indebted to De Gea making 2 great late saves to earn the points , Falcao had earlier netted the Winner with his first United goal , Everton are as low as 17th after a poor start.
Swansea are 5th but were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Newcastle as Cisse twice levelled for Alan Pardew’s side who despite this good point remain in 18th. West ham continued there bright start with a 2-0 Home win over Qpr and are up to 7th as a result , another bad day for the Hoops tho who drop to the foot of the table. Liverpool are 9th after a much needed 2-1 home win over West Brom with goals from Lallana and Henderson to end there poor run of results , West Brom are 14th. Hull City are 11th after a much needed 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace with goals from Diame and Jelavic , Palace drop to 15th.
It ended 2-2 at the Walkers between Leicester and Burnley in an entertaining clash with Burnley snatching a point in stoppage time thanks to a fantastic free kick from Wallace to lift them off the bottom to 19th , Leicester are 12th. And finally at the Stadium of Light Sunderland enjoyed an excellent 3-1 win against Stoke City with goals from Wickham and 2 for Fletcher to lift them up to 13th with Stoke dropping to 16th.
The premier league takes a 2 week international break now but when it returns it will see Manchester City taking on Tottenham , Chelsea travelling to Crystal Palace and Manchester United visit West Brom in the pick of the fixtures. – Wayne Bills.
