"The Artist" a Silence Film directed by Michel Hazanavicius

On monday we had the opportunity to watch the press preview of "The Artist" the silence film directed by Michel Hazanavicius with Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Béjo, out on December 9 in Italy, distributed by BIM.
The film is set in the hollywood of the 1927 and tells the story of George Valentin, a male silent film star that with the raising of the talkies will face some problem with his career, while Peppy Miller, an emerging actress, will become a young rising star of the cinema and their stories will intertwine. Through a wonderful love storie set in the atmosphere of the late twenties, it's very interesting to notice: the look of the actors, wearing very elegant costumes, the hairstyles, and the make up. The film is very emotional and sensory because without the use of dialogues it can involve the spectators through the shots, the contrasts, the composition and primarily thanks to the vibrant soundtrack made by Ludovic Bource, that emphasizes the mood of the characters, the breakups, the conflicts and the changes of the scenes with a strong impact between the music and the images. The film had a great success during the Cannes Film Festival, where Jean Dujardin, the male character, has won the award for best actor. "The Artist" il film muto diretto da Michel Hazanavicius
Lunedi abbiamo avuto l'opportunita' di guardare in anteprima "The Artist" il film muto di Michel Hazanavicius con Jean Dujardin e Bérénice Béjo, in uscita il prossimo 9 dicembre, distribuito da BIM. Il film e' ambientato nella Hollywood del 1927 e racconta la storia di George Valentin, un divo del cinema muto all'apice del successo che al momento dell'introduzione del sonoro, affrontera' un periodo non facile per la sua carriera, mentre Peppy Miller, una giovane comparsa,  diventera' una stella nascente del cinema e le loro storie si intrecceranno. Attraverso una bellissima e romantica storia d'amore fra le atmosfere magiche di fine anni 20, e' molto interessante notare: il look degli attori, che indossano degli abiti molto eleganti, le acconciature e il trucco. Questa e' un opera molto emozionale e sensoriale perche' senza l'utilizzo dei dialoghi riesce a coinvolgere lo spettatore attraverso le inquadrature, i contrasti, le composizioni e soppratutto grazie alla colonna sonora vibrante, a cura di Ludovic Bource, che in un film come questo tiene conto di tutti gli umori dei personaggi, delle rotture, dei conflitti e dei cambi di scena di ciascuna sequenza e c'e` quindi una forte corrispondenza fra musica e immagini. Il film e' stato accolto con grande successo al Festival di Cannes, dove Jean Dujardin, il protagonista maschile del film, ha vinto il premio come miglior attore.
