Dancer è tornata finalmente !

Ringrazio tutte le persone che mi hanno scritto nel tempo in cui sono stata assente, ero occupatissima tra cambi di casa, nuovi orari, che macello il trasferimento !

Rieccomi comunque, e da oggi in poi scriverò i post anche in versione Inglese, per fare un pò di allenamento ( saranno benvenute le correzioni ai numerosi errori).

Ho letto proprio questa mattina della decisione coraggiosa di Angelina Jolie, l’attrice Americana che ha scoperto di possedere il gene BRCA1,  ( gene che aumenta il rischio di sviluppare il cancro al seno dell’ 87% e del cancro alle ovaie del 55%), che ha preso la decisione di sottoporsi ad un intervento di doppia mastectomia per evitare la malattia. La paura era dovuta al fatto che sua madre è morta all’età di 56 anni, di cancro.

Tutti si chiederanno – ora è rimasta senza le mammelle ? e Brad Pitt? che coraggio ! -

Effettivamente è stata coraggiosa … secondo me anche un pò pazza: io al 99% non avrei fatto lo stesso nella sua situazione … prendere una decisione così drastica sulla base di una probabilità … possedere il gene dannoso non significa sviluppare la malattia. E se ti togli i tessuti dal seno non significa che non potrà venirti il cancro da un’altra parte!

Voglio però sottolineare questo: l’intervento chirurgico che lei ha fatto è consistito nella rimozione dei tessuti da entrambe le mammelle, tessuti che sono stati rimpiazzati da impianti in silicone. Alta e costosa chirurgia. Quindi lei continua ad avere il suo seno, uguale a come è sempre stato. Si vedranno solo le ‘piccole cicatrici’ come lei ha spiegato ai suoi bimbi.

Generalmente le mastectomie ( sia perchè lo stadio della malattia è troppo avanzato o perchè la paziente non ha abbastanza soldi per affrontare i costi della chirurgia ricostruttiva) consistono nella rimozione completa delle mammelle, compresi capezzoli, che lasciano cicatrici deturpanti e conseguenti inguaribili  cicatrici psicologiche.

Si, i soldi fanno tanto, direi PRATICAMENTE TUTTO.

Ormai ne sono sempre più convinta.

In ogni caso, io adoro Angelina Jolie, mi è sempre piaciuta e tifo per lei, Brad ed i loro 6 figli !

Hello everybody, Dancer is finally back!

I want to thank you for writing me during the time I was away, I have been super busy with house shifting, new timetables, what a mess a house-moving is !

Anyway, I’m here and starting from today I will write all my posts both in Italian and  English, I need to pratctice ( corrections to my mistakes are welcome

I have just read about the Angelina Jolie’s courageos decision, the American actress that found out to carry the BRCA1 faulty gene, ( this faulty gene increases the risk of developing breast cancer to 87% and ovarian cancer to 55%), and she took the decision to have a double mastectomy to avoid the disease.

She was scared because her mother died at 56 y.o. due to cancer.

All the people now will be wondering: – is she now without her breasts? What about Brad Pitt? How brave she is!-

She has been brave, by the way, I think a bit mad as well ! 99% sure that I’ll had never taken the same decision: take such drastic decision only based on percentages!

To carry a dangerous gene doesn’t mean that will develope the disease! And taking – off bits of your body doesn’t mean that you’ll not develope cancer in any other parts of your body!

I want to emphasize this: the surgery she had, consisted in the removal of breast tissues that have been replaced with implants. So she continues to have her breasts as usual and you only can see little scars, as she explained to her kids.

Usually mastectomies  ( maybe because either at a very high advanced stadium or the patient doesn’t have enough money to afford such expensive surgery), consist in the complete removal of breasts, nipples included, with pretty extreme body scars and psychological scars.

Yes, money makes many things, I would say BASICALLY EVERYTHING!

I am pretty convinced.

Anyway, I have always admired Angelina Jolie, I love her and i wish all the best to her, Brad Pitt and their 6 kids!
