Sono passati gli anni, i Beatles oggi festeggiano i 50 anni che sono trascorsi dal loro sbarco sul continente americano e nonostante tutto, dopo 50 anni, Beatles e Rolling Stones sono ancora rivali. Paul McCartney e gli Stones erano stati nominati per la stessa categoria, migliore brano rock, ai Grammy Awards che si sono tenuti domenica sera a Los Angeles.
Per i Beatles anche uno speciale riconoscimento alla carriera, a 50 anni esatti dallo ‘sbarco’ in America della band di Liverpool.

A parte questo allo Staples Center di Los Angeles, Paul McCartney e Ringo Starr, per la prima volta dal 2010 sono tornati ad esibirsi insieme dal vivo. Ai grammy Awards si sono esibiti anche Madonna, Jay Z, Daft Punk con Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams e Stevie Wonder, i Metallica con Lang Lang e un supergruppo composto da elementi di Nine Inch Nails e Queens Of The Stone Age con Dave Grohl e Lindsey Buckingham. Ed ancora: Beyoncé, provocante più che mai con il marito Jay Z. ed i premiati come Best new Artist Macklemore & Ryan Lewis che hanno portato a casa ben 4 statuette.
Tante le esibizioni dunque tante le emozioni che hanno avuto come finale l’esibisione dei Daft Punk – con Pharrell Williams alla voce, Nile Rodgers alla chitarra e Stevie Wonder al piano sulla scenografia di uno studio di registrazione anni Settanta che più anni Settanta non si poteva – hanno scelto di materializzarsi alla fine del primo brano in scaletta, “Get lucky”, che subito ha lasciato spazio all’omaggio a Rodgers “Freak out” degli Chic, sapientemente medleyzzata alla hit dell’anno (Rockol)
