Con i Mondiali ormai alle porte, il mercato trasferimenti è destinato a passare in secondo piano, ma i prossimi saranno ancora giorni caldissimi per le squadre di Premier League.
Tra i club più impegnati si segnala l’Aston Villa, che ha firmato il centrale ex Arsenal Philippe Senderos a parametro zero, dopo che lo stesso si è svincolato dal Valencia, affiancandogli l’ex nazionale 33enne Joe Cole, rilasciato dal West Ham.
Il Newcastle United ha concluso il suo primo movimento estivo firmando il centrocampista Jack Colback, il cui contratto coi rivali locali del Sunderland era giunto al termine.
Il centrocampista Steve Sidwell si è trasferito dal retrocesso Fulham allo Stoke City.
Nelle prossime settimane sono attesi molti nuovi colpi, con parecchi giocatori ormai a fine contratto desiderosi di accasarsi altrove.
Tra questi i più famosi sono Nicklas Bendtner e Park Chu Young, mentre la leggenda del Chelsea Frank Lampard dovrebbe annunciare a giorni il suo trasferimento oltreoceano.
Un altro top player in scadenza che dovrebbe lasciare Stamford Bridge è Ashley Cole, lo stesso Samuel Eto’o ha avviato contatti preliminari con l’Arsenal.
Dopo l’ottimo campionato in prestito della scorsa stagione, il Manchester City lascia Gareth Barry libero di accordarsi con l’Everton per un contratto pluriennale, mentre alla ricerca di nuova sistemazione è anche Joleon Lescott, a fine contratto.
Nicholas Anelka lascerà il West Bromwich Albion insieme a Zolten Gera e Liam Ridgewell.

With the world cup just a few days away the transfer market may take a back seat in the next few weeks but in the mean time its been another busy week in the premier league with Aston Villa being busy as they have signed former Arsenal centre half Phillipe Senderos on a free transfer after the Swiss defender left Valencia to boost Villa’s defence , and they then added former England playmaker Joe Cole also on a free after the 32 year old was released by West Ham. elsewhere Newcastle United have made there first signing of the summer by signing midfielder Jack Colback on a free transfer from local rivals Sunderland after his contract expired. midfielder Steve Sidwell has left relegated Fulham to join Stoke City also on a free transfer. there could well be a lot more free transfers in the coming weeks with a whole host of players out of contract including Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner and Park Chu Young , Chelsea are set to release club legend Frank Lampard tho the USA looks his most likely destination , Ashley Cole is another top player set to leave the Bridge and Samuel Eto,o is also available with Arsenal thought to be interested in the former Barcelona forward.
