What about if someone would sell you Fontana di Trevi?

In a previous post I had fervently recommended you to visit the Trevi Fountain if you are in Rome. The architectural and sculptural structure, along with the water games create an unique effect. I invite you to read my post dedicated to this fountain.

The question now arises: can we only stop and admire this magnificent fountain or we can do more? Some people have done definitely more. Do  you want to know who did more? Let's start with a fact known all over the world and now in the collective imagination. Do you remember when Anita Ekberg came into the fountain? She was beautiful, uninhibited for that period and she was fascinated by the magical setting of the Trevi fountain. Obviously for the female audience Mastroianniwas a pleasant presence! The scene was exciting and romantic in the film La Dolce Vita (1960) directed by one of the greatest Italian directors : Fellini. Here the famous scene.
 
If you find in front of the Trevi fountain and you are in a romantic and passionate moment, do not imitate the two actors because - unlike them - you would become famous on the town chronicles for your impending arrest.
Maybe you don’t’ know that there was someone who tried to sell the Trevi fountain. You cannot belive it? Take a look at the following video. The film is Tototruffa '62. In this movie, Toto argued that he was the owner of the fountain it would bring him the good gains for the money the people thrown in there. The movie sketch is really very nice and hilarious!

The best we can do is throw a coin and make a wish: for a few seconds the fountain will be yours! And how Toto would say: " Ciao statti buono! A domani cumpà!”

La domanda ora sorge spontanea: possiamo solo fermarci ed ammirare questa magnifica fontana? C’è chi ha fatto molto di più. Volete sapere chi e che cosa ha combinato? Partiamo da un fatto celebre a tutto il mondo cinematografico e non, entrato nell’immaginario collettivo. Il bagno di Anita Ekberg nella fontana. Lei era bellissima, disinibita per i tempi e affascinata dalla cornice magica della fontana di Trevi. Ovviamente anche per il pubblico femminile Mastroianni creava un certo effetto. La scena era coinvolgente e romantica nel film La dolce Vita del 1960 diretto da uno dei più grandi registi Italiani mai vissuti: Fellini. Eccola sotto in un video famosissimo.
Presi da romanticismo e passione , se mai vi trovaste di fronte alla fontana, non imitate i due attori perché a differenza loro diventereste celebri sulle cronache cittadine per il vostro imminente arresto.
Sapete che ci fu chi tentò addirittura di vendere la fontana di Trevi? Non ci credete? Date un occhio al filmato qui sotto. Il film è Toto truffa ‘62. In questo filmato Totò sosteneva che la fontana fosse sua e gli portasse dei buoni guadagni per i soldi che ci gettavano dentro. La truffa è veramente simpaticissima ed esilarante!
Ecco la compravendita cinematografica della fontana di Trevi. E se vi offrissero di comprarla? Ovviamente scherzo, non è in vendita. Il massimo che possiamo fare è gettare una monetina ed esprimere un desiderio: per qualche secondo sarà anche un po’ nostra! E come direbbe Totò: “ Ciao statti buono! A domani cumpà!”
