Il lungomare del Poetto è stato da tempo dotato di una bella zona pedonale che circonda il porticciolo turistico: la passeggiata è sempre piena di gente, il piccolo anfiteatro ospita spesso spettacoli all'aperto, lo scivolo di alaggio è continuamente utilizzato da surf-ski, kayak, sit-on-top e mentre le derive prendono il largo si assiepano nel campo le canoe polo. Lo scorso fine settimana sembrava ancora piena estate. La lunghissima spiaggia di sabbia chiara era ricolma di bagnanti e l'orizzonte era chiuso dalle vele colorate e rumorose dei surf e dei kite: sembrava che tutta la città si fosse riversata in mare per goderselo!
Il corso 3 stelle BCU dell'1, 2 e 3 novembre non poteva andare meglio: abbiamo dapprima lavorato nella baia ridossata dal vento, ci siamo poi diretti alla famosa "Sella del Diavolo" per giocare un po' tra i giardini di roccia e quando il terzo giorno si è finalmente alzato lo scirocco abbiamo ripetuto tutte le manovre tra le onde del golfo di Cagliari...
L'ospitalità che mi ha riservato Alfio Paderi del Circolo Le Saline è stata ineguagliabile, come l'offerta di Stefano Diana di utilizzare uno qualunque dei suoi tanti kayak da mare. Il gruppo si è mostrato talmente affiatato da cominciare subito a pensare (e pianificare!) il 4 stelle training del prossimo anno! Non vedo l'ora di tornare a Cagliari!!!

Cagliari is the ideal city for practising outdoor and water activities.The waterfront of Poetto has been for a long time provided with a beautiful pedestrian area that surrounds the tourist harbour: the walk is always full of people, the small amphitheater often offers plein air shows, the slipway is continually used by surf-ski, kayak, sit-on-top and while the centreboards take the sea there also are lot of canoe polo ready to play a match. Last weekend the weather was so good that it still seems summer. The long clear sandy beach was full of swimmers and the horizon was closed from the colored sails of surf and kites: it seemed that the whole city has come there to wnjoy to the sea!
The BCU 3 stars course run last November 1th, 2nd and 3rd could not be better: we worked at first in the sheltered bay, than we had some rock hoping around the famous "Saddle of the Devil" and finally on the third day we repeated all the maneuvers in the waves of the open gulf...
Alfio Paderi of the local Club Le Saline was a really extraordinary host and Stefano Diana was so generous to let me choise one of his good sea kayaks. The group of students was a very good team and they immediately started to think about (and plan!) the 4 stars training of the next year!
I'm really looking forward to come back to Cagliari again!!!
