A dinner into the past - Serifos exceptional experience

Serifos nasconde molti aspetti che conservano un tempo ormai perduto: spiagge da sogno senza un'anima, nessun Ritz Hotel, i muli usati per il trasporto di merci e oggetti su per la Chora... E' il bello dell'isola e il lusso che concede è proprio quello di permettere di lasciarsi trascinare da un ritmo di vita al quale non si è abituati. Tra questi piccoli salti in altre dimensioni, c'è un locale, negozio-alimentari-bar-ristorante, che si fa notare per la sua atmosfera d'antan, i profili vintage e la genuinità. Diventa, grazie alla più radicale semplicità, un posto unico.
Già l'anno passato eravamo stati qui a bere qualche cosa prima di cena. Avevo scattato delle foto e una è stata selezionata da PhotoVogue (QUI il mio profilo). Quest'anno con più disinvoltura e tranquillità, i miei genitori con amici e parenti connessi, sono tornati per la cena e mio papà non ha risparmiato gli scatti.

Serifos hides many ways that preserve a time now lost: dream beaches without anyone, no Ritz Hotels, the mules used to transport goods and objects to the Chora ... That's the beauty of the island and the luxury it gives is just to allow you to be carried away by a rhythm of life that is forgotten by us. Among these small jumps in other dimensions, there is a local shop-food-bar-restaurant, which is noted for its atmosphere of yesteryear, vintage profiles and authenticity. It becomes, thanks to the most radical simplicity, a unique place.
Already last year we were here to drink something before dinner. At taht time, I took some photos and one of them was selected by PhotoVogue (HERE my profile). This year, with more ease and tranquility, my parents with friends and family, returned for dinner and my dad shotted so much.

La tovaglia cerata, i barattoli impilati quasi a riprodurre gli sfondi delle vecchie reclame, quando ancora erano disegnate. Una vecchia pesa, i colini di rame. La cura nel riporre i prodotti sullo scaffale che si avrebbe nella credenza di casa propria. L'atmosfera non si tradisce in nessun dettaglio, perchè è autentico e spontaneo.
Se mio papà quest'anno ha ritratto in modo eccezionale l'ambiente, l'anno scorso io ero riuscita a scattare un ritratto ai proprietari del locale, insieme ad 'uno dei nostri': due anziani signori greci, vispi e simpatici - perfetti per il loro negozio.
The oilcloth tablecloth, the cans stacked as if would to reproduce the backgrounds of old advertising, when they were still drawn. An old scale, the copper strainers. The attention in placing the goods on the shelf that you would have in the cupboard of your own home. The atmosphere does not betray in any detail, because it is authentic and spontaneous.

My dad has portrayed this year in an exceptional way the rooms, but last year I was able to take a picture to the owners of the restaurant, along with 'one of us': two Greek elderly gentlemen, lively and friendly - perfect for their store.

La cena, si svolge fuori. Inutile dire che si tratta di un ambiente casalingo, e così viene cucinata e servita la cena. I commensali aiutano ad apparecchiare, come se si fosse a casa di vecchi amici. E poi gambe sotto al tavolo e via con le portate, scelte e preparate dalla padrona di casa, come è ovvio! :)
Sicuro è che in un posto così, ciò che non manca sulla bocca di tutti, è un gran bel sorriso.
The dinner takes place outside. Needless to say that it is a home environment, and in this way are cooked and served dinner. The guests help set the table, as if you were at home of old friends. And then legs under the table and go with the flows, selected and prepared by the hostess, of course! :)
It is certain that in such a place, something that is not lacking on everyone's lips, it's a great beautiful smile.
