ha imparato a leggere da sola a quattro anni e mezzo, ancor prima di iniziare le elementari ed a dieci anni già assillava i genitori perchè le comprassero sempre nuovi libri, da allora i familiari hanno cercato, con poco successo, di interdirle l'ingresso a qualsiasi luogo dove si vendono libri, poiché il risultato è sempre lo stesso: carrello pieno e portafogli svuotato. Considerata da taluni una malattia grave, per Maet invece la "leggite acuta" è uno stato permanente ed una condizione dell'anima, si legge per vivere e si vive per leggere.
Per sognare, per riflettere, per dimenticare, per immaginare, per ridere, per imparare, per commuoversi, per piangere, per sentire.
Con poche eccezioni (romanzi truculenti, istant - book, raccolte di barzellette dei calciatori e similari) ama qualsiasi genere, con una particolare predilezione per i testi storici e filosofici e la poesia. Dopo una vita dedicata ai piaceri della letteratura, ha scoperto il romance solo otto anni fa grazie a Kathleen E. Woodiwiss ed ha tentato di recuperare il tempo perduto divorando una quantità imbarazzante di volumi, sempre all'oscuro dei suoi genitori, che se messi al corrente, di certo la ripudierebbero. Poichè vi sono moltissimi libri e pochissimo tempo, in genere ne legge due o tre in contemporanea, preferibilmente in lingua originale quando possibile, per cui si arrabbia se è costretta a perdere ore preziose con prodotti di scarsa o bassa qualità.
Le piacciono le storie d'amore travagliate e complicate, con trame anche inusuali e protagonisti complessi e profondi, o le commedie sentimentali spumeggianti, non sopporta la superficialità nè la banalità, le eroine, fisicamente perfette, ma infantili ed immature, gli eroi muscolosi come culturisti, abbronzati come pescivendoli ed incapaci di un discorso di senso compiuto. Detesta quando un racconto ed i suoi personaggi non hanno un' anima.
Se fosse un'eroina romance...
... sarebbe in realtà una combinazione di diverse figure: Tess Essex di “Mai senza di te” di Eloisa James, Samantha Wickersham di “Tua fino all'alba” di Teresa Medeiros, Olivia Bryant di “Fidanzati per finta” di Mary Balogh, anche se sospetta che la vera ragione per preferire codeste donzelle ad altre, sia in realtà quella di farsi sedurre dai loro meravigliosi partner...

Woodiwiss, and from that moment on, she tried to make up the time lost, swallowing an embarrassing quantity of books, always , of course, hidden from her parents, who, if they knew, would certainly disown her. Since the books are so many, and the time is too little, she usually reads two or three books contemporaneously,and, when it is possible, preferably in their original language, so, it makes her angry if she gets to waste her time on low quality products.
She likes suffered and complicated love stories, with unusual plots and with complex and deep characters; or, sparkling romantic comedies. She cannot stand neither superficiality nor banality, childish and immature heroines with perfect bodies, heroes with the fit of a body builder,suntanned like fishmongers, but incapable of putting together one single intelligent line of thought. She hates when the story and its protagonists lack any depth.
If she were a romance heroine...
....she would be, in fact, a combination of several characters: Tess Essex from "Much Ado About You" by Eloisa James, Samantha Wichersham from " Yours Until Dawn" by Teresa Medeiros, Olivia Bryant from "Counterfeit Betrothal" by Mary Balogh, but, what she really suspects is, that the real reason for prefering these girls to all others is the idea of being seduced by their marvelous partners...

ha letto il suo primo libro romantico a undici anni, era “Amore Prigioniero” di Barbara Cartland, e ancora a volte le capita di pensare ad Aristide
Ama le trame movimentate e le ambientazioni storiche, ma anche l'introspezione psicologica dei personaggi, senza la quale non riesce ad apprezzare alcun libro.
Adora l'inconsueto, gli eroi pericolosi, il mistero e i gatti, e con queste premesse non poteva che diventare un'appassionata del paranormale (soprattutto se hanno per protagonista un mutaforma!). Ha un debole per gli amori che nascono tra sconosciuti, non sopporta le eroine che si atteggiano a martire e detesta le trame basate sul cosiddetto Grande Equivoco, ovvero il “big misunderstanding”.
Se fosse un'eroina romance...
… probabilmente sarebbe (o vorrebbe essere) Rachael Lospostos, l'eroina di “Wild Rain” di Christine Feehan, una donna forte e fragile nello stesso tempo, con un profondo senso di giustizia e di affinità con la natura... se poi questa natura è nientemeno che la foresta pluviale e il suo eroe un uomo-leopardo che la guarda come se volesse mangiarsela e le fa le fusa... cosa potrebbe chiedere di più?
Naan read her first romance novel at the age of eleven, and the book was "Love Locked In" by Barbara Cartland. Even now she sometimes catches herself thinking of Aristide.
She likes historical settings and the plots with a lot of action, but also, the psycological introspection of the protagonists, without which, it is impossible for her to appreciate any book.
She adores the unusual, and loves dangerous heroes, the misterious and the cats, and, considering all that, what else could've she become if not a fan of the paranormal (especially if the main heroe is a shape shifter!) The love born between two complete strangers is her weakness, she cannot stand the heroines who behave like martyrs and hates the plots based on the "Big Misunderstanding".
If she were a romance heroine...
...she would probably be (or would like to be) Rachael Lopostos, the heroine of Christine Feehan's "Wild Rain". Strong and fragile at the same time, with a deep sense for justice and affinity for the nature.....if then the nature in question is a rainforest and her heroe is half man and half leopard who looks at her as if he would eat her and purrs in her ear... what else could she want?

Il suo "primo amore" sono state le favole e per potersi tuffare a piacimento nel loro mondo incantato ha imparato – da sola! – a leggere prestissimo. Da allora, la passione per la lettura è cresciuta insieme a lei; per studio e per piacere ha letto libri di ogni genere, dai grandi classici di tutto il mondo agli autori contemporanei ma, dato che il “primo amore” non si scorda mai, le storie a lieto fine hanno sempre avuto un posto speciale nel suo cuore. Così quando anni fa si è “imbattuta per caso” in Rosa d’inverno di K. Woodiwiss, è stata un’autentica rivelazione!
Ama moltissimo la letteratura inglese e, in particolare, i capolavori di Charlotte Bronte e Jane Austen che conosce quasi a memoria! Adora le storie che danno spazio ai sentimenti profondi senza cadere nel melodrammatico, soprattutto se scritte da una “penna” arguta e frizzante. Non sopporta un modo di scrivere approssimativo e il ricorso gratuito alla violenza o a un linguaggio volgare. Ama i protagonisti intelligenti, che non si arrendono facilmente, non perdono la fiducia nel proprio partner e in caso di equivoci o difficoltà non temono di chiedere chiarimenti o affrontare spiegazioni.

... veramente difficile scegliere! Però le piacerebbe vestire i panni di Lizzy Carlisle (Un amore al Cairo di Connie Brockway) per due ottime ragioni: vivere la realtà di un favoloso Egitto e, naturalmente... Harry Braxton!

She loves intelligent characters, who don’t give up easily and who do not loose the trust in their partner, and, when a misunderstanding or a difficulty occurs, they do not fear to ask for explanations or to face the facts.

... it is very difficult to choose! In any case, she wouldn’t mind being in the shoes of Connie Brockway’s Lizzy Carlisle from the book “As You Desire”, for two very good reasons: the first is the idea of living in the fabulous Egypt, and the second is, of course…..Harry Braxton!

non ricorda un solo giorno della sua vita in cui non abbia avuto un libro in mano! E’ cresciuta praticamente con i libri rosa della madre che circolavano per casa, Liala, Barbara Cartland, e via dicendo, sino alla scoperta della compianta e meravigliosa Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, per non parlare della grandissima Jane Austen, che se non fosse esistita si sarebbe dovuta inventare.
A parte i mattoni filosofici e i gialli “classici”, che non legge, le sue letture sono eclettiche, spaziano dal rosa, al classico, paranormale, fantasy, thriller, vampiri, licantropi e quant'altro. La sua vita senza la lettura è inconcepibile, e tale passione la divide con un raggio di sole entrato nella sua vita, la sua amica Chiaromattino con cui adora conversare nelle loro riunioni fatti di tè, dolcetti e libri!
L'epoca storica che preferisce in un romance è il Medioevo: adora leggere di eroine che vivono in castelli sferzati dal vento, le accompagna mentre percorrono la corte, o quando passeggiano tra le merlature, in attesa che rientri il loro cavaliere!
Il personaggio maschile deve essere un Alfa... lo ammette, le piacciono le figure forti, dominanti, passionali, e tormentate, insomma l'uomo denim ma... solo nei libri!!
Tra le sue scrittrici preferite figurano Julie Garwood, Elizabeth Lowell, J.R.Ward, Lora Leigh e ... ci vorrebbe un papiro per elencarle tutte! Dalla sua libreria non verrà mai sfrattato “Amore zingaro” della Becnel, “Il Lupo e la colomba" della Woodiwiss e la saga della Ward "The Black Dagger Brotherwood", che ritiene dei capolavori.
Se fosse un'eroina romance...
questa è una risposta difficile da dare, in quanto le sono passate tante eroine tra le mani che ci sarebbe l'imbarazzo della scelta, ma la sua natura passionale la porta a scegliere Bella, la protagonista di “Lover Awakened”, perchè appena conosce il protagonista Zsadist perde la testa per lui, è un'eroina capace di osare e poi ... è una bellissima vampira!!!!
Ma se dovessimo considerare la realtà, si identifica meglio con certe protagoniste della Garwood, sbadate, smemorate, sempre con la testa tra le nuvole, che prima parlano e poi pensano, insomma una frana, e lei è proprio così!

Then arrived the discovery of the marvelous and, unfortunately, late Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, and useless to say, of the great Jane Austen , which, if she weren't existing, should have been invented!
Except the philosophy drags and classic mysteries, which she doesn't read, her readings are wide ranging, and they include romance, classic fiction, paranormal, fantasy, thriller, vampires , werewolves, and many more. To live and not to read , is inconceivable for her, and she shares this passion with the ray of light which entered her life - her friend Chiaromattino, with whom she adores spending time, and their meetings are all about tea, cookies and books!
Her favourite Romance setting is the Medieval: she adores reading about the heroines who live in the castles lashed by the wind, she is by their side while they are having a walk in the court, or along the battlements, while waiting for their hero to return.
The hero in a romance novel has to be an Alpha.....she has to admit that; she likes strong and dominant and at the same time passionate and tormented characters - in one word - the denim man.....but, in the books only! Among the names of her favourite authors are Julie Garwood, Elizabeth Lowell, J.R.Ward, Lora Leigh and....it would take a whole scroll of paper to list all of them! The books which are her keepers and which will never leave her bookshelf, are "Dangerous To Love" by Rexanne Becnel, "The Wolf and The Dove" by K.E. Woodiwiss and J.R.
Ward's saga "The Black Dagger Brotherhood", all of which she considers as masterpieces.

... this is difficult to answer,because, having read about so many different heroines, she could be spoilt for choice, but, her passionate nature makes her choose Bella, the heroine from J.R. Ward's “Lover Awakened”. She looses her head the moment she meets Zadist, the main hero of the story. She is daring and ... she is one beautiful vampire!!!!
But, if she were to consider real facts, she would easily identify herself with some of the Julie Garwood's heroines; scatterbrained, absent-minded, always having their heads in the clouds, first talking and then thinking...all in all , a real disaster, but, that's the way she is!

Quando ha scoperto l'esistenza dei libri, ha capito per quale motivo leggere le è sembrato naturale tanto quanto respirare, e dal momento che aveva più o meno sei anni, si può dire che è stata la prima tappa fondamentale della sua vita.
Solo molto più tardi ha sviluppato una spiccata tendenza per il genere sentimentale, in ogni sua sfumatura, dal fantasy al gotico, dal medioevale al fantascientifico. L'importante è che sempre e ovunque trovi pathos, mistero, personaggi affascinanti, eroine pronte a gettarsi in splendide avventure, e romanticismo … in enormi quantità … diversamente non avrebbe scelto come nick il nome di una splendida piccola rosa estremamente profumata.
Adora gli eroi incompresi e i cattivi, i guerrieri della Ward sono esempi sublimi dei suoi personaggi ideali. Non ama i buoni per forza e a tutti i costi … li trova così noiosiiiiiiii. Le piace leggere più libri contemporaneamente , soprattutto in lingua spagnola dal momento che, per quanto la riguarda, un "ti amo" non suona certo come un "te quiero"

... com'è difficile decidere. Comunque il primo amore non si scorda mai, dunque anche Chiaromattino ricorre alla Woodiwiss . Si tratta di Alaina MacGaren, la protagonista di “Come cenere nel vento”("Ashes in the wind"). Una donna che perde tutto ma non si arrende, e armata della sua determinazione e coraggio risale la china. Ma Alaina è anche passione, amore, perdono … e Cole… va be’… Cole è per un altro post!
When Chiaromattino discovered the existence of books, she understood the reason why reading was as natural to her as breathing, and considering that she was more or less six at the time, it can be considered as the first important stage in her life.
Only quite later did she develop a strong tendency toward the Romance, in all its facetes, from Fantasy to Gothic, from medieval to SF. What is important is that there is always the pathos, the misterious, that there are fascinating protagonists and the heroines ready to throw themselves in fantastic adventures, and romance....in huge quantities....otherwise, she would have never chosen for her nick the name of a very beautiful small rose with a very strong essence.
She adores the heroes who are misunderstood, and she likes bad guys. She finds that J.R.Ward's warriors are the sublime example of her ideal protagonist. She does not like good guys who have to remain good no matter what.....she finds them so boriiiiiing. She likes reading more books contemporaneously , especially if they are written in Spanish language, because she is of the opinion that a "Ti amo" certanly does not sound as a "Te quiero".
If she were a romance heroine...
...it is so difficult to decide. Anyway, it is the first love that you never forget, and so Chiaromattino choses Mrs. Woodiwiss too. It is Alaina MacGaren, the main protagonist of the book "Ashes In The Wind". A woman who loses everything, but does not give up, and armoured with her own determination and courage, she turns things to her own advantage. But Alaina also means passion, love and forgiveness....and Cole....oh well....Cole deserves a post on his own!

conosce il romance grazie al film tv "Passione sotto la cenere", ispirato ad un romanzo della Dama Barbara Cartland. A quattordici anni legge per la prima volta "Cime tempestose" e resta conquistata dal passionale e spietato Heathcliff. Adora i romanzi dove i personaggi fanno sempre le loro scelte col cervello, salvo innamorarsi perdutamente con il cuore. Il suo genere prediletto è senza dubbio il romance storico, preferisce l'introspezione all'azione ed è fortemente allergica agli anacronismi (psicologici in primis). Nessuna riserva verso il paranormal: che sia una splendida favola come l'incantevole "Joy la strega" di Jill Barnett, o le cronache metropolitane dei seducenti vampiri della Ward. I suoi protagonisti preferiti? Uomini gelidi, pericolosi, temuti e feroci come una tigre ferita, ma altrettanto splendidi, sensuali e capaci di abbandonarsi alla mano della donna giusta... eroi come Zsadist di "Lover Awakened" di J. R. Ward, JeanLuc de "L'uomo dei due volti" di Gayle Wilson e Montmorency de "Il Cavaliere Rosso" di Deborah Simmons.

... forse potrebbe essere Tia di "Patto col diavolo" Marlene Suson: responsabile, razionale e coi piedi ben piantati per terra... finché l'amore non si mette in mezzo e si sa! Le sue croci e delizie hanno ragioni che la ragione non conosce!
Lener learned about the Romance genre thanks to the movie "A Hazard Of Hearts", based on the novel written by Dame Barbara Cartland. At fourteen, she read for the first time the book "Wuthering Heights", and was immediately conquered by the passionate and fierce Heathcliff. She loves those stories where the main heroes make their choices using their brain, except of course, if they loose their heart by hopelessly falling in love. Her favourite genre is Historical Romance; she appreciates the story based on the introspection and not on the action, and she is allergic to anachronisms (most of all, the psychological ones). She does not mind paranormal genre : either as a beautiful fairy tale , like the one written by Jill Barnett, "Bewitching", or as a more modern one, like the urban chronicles of J.R. Ward's alluring vampires. Her favourite type of hero? Cold, dangerous, fearful and merciless like a wounded tiger, but , at the same time, gorgeous, sensual and able to let himself go in the hands of the right woman....like Zadist, from J.R. Ward's "Lover Awakened", or JeanLuc from Gayle Wilson's "The Gambler's Heart", or Montmorency from Deborah Simmons's "The Devil's Lady".
If she were a romance heroine...
... maybe she could be Tia, from Marlene Suson's "Devil's Bargain": responsible, rational, with her feet firmly on the ground....until the love does not come her way, and, as we all know, the love's way knows no reason!

I viaggi nel tempo e l'occulto sono i temi che la affascinano, ma essendo anche una inguaribile romantica e sognatrice, ha trovato il suo rifugio preferito nei romanzi rosa con un pizzico di paranormale – un fantasma irrequieto, che non riesce a trovare la pace finché non trova la donna che amerà per l'eternità ; oppure una ragazza dei giorni nostri catapultata indietro nel tempo dritto fra le braccia di un affascinante cavaliere – ecco le sue trame preferite. Se poi queste situazioni portano ai risvolti comici, ancora meglio! Naturalmente, apprezza sempre un bel romanzo storico medievale, specialmente se contiene dei dettagli storici realmente accaduti. Il suo sentimento verso la lettura si rispecchia pienamente nella famosa frase di Jorge Luis Borges: "Ho sempre pensato che il Paradiso fosse una specie di biblioteca."
Se fosse un'eroina romance...
... forse sarebbe Elise Radborne, la protagonista del romanzo di Kathleen E. Woodiwiss "La Magnifica Preda" ("So Worthy My Love"). Rapita per errore dall'affascinante marchese Maxim Seymour , si trova ad affrontare l'accaduto con molto garbo, spirito ed inventiva. Non si perde facilmente d'animo e trova il lato positivo anche nelle situazioni più disperate. E quando arriva il momento, ci dimostra che, se non basta una lingua affilata, anche una padella da cucina lanciata con precisione può benissimo servire come arma per difendere i propri punti di vista!
The Time Travel and the Occult are the genres that Drakon loves the most, but, being a hopeless romantic and a daydreamer, she has found her favourite refuge in the Romance genre with a touch of paranormal – a restless ghost who wouldn’t find peace until he has found the woman to love for eternity; or a modern-day girl thrown back in time straight into the arms of a charming knight – these are her favourite plots. If these plots then bring on comical situations, it is even better! Of course, she will always appreciate a good medieval romance, especially if it blends fiction with real historical events. Her feelings about the reading could be put in one single famous quote, the one said by Jorge Luis Borges: “I have always imagined that Paradise will be some kind of library.”

... maybe she would be Elise Radborne, the heroine from Kathleen E. Woodiwiss’s “So Worthy My Love”. Mistakenly kidnapped by the handsome Marquis Maxim Seymour, Elise faces the situation with a large dose of grace, lively wit and inventiveness. She doesn’t despond easily and she manages to find a bright side in even the most desperate situation. And when the time comes, she proves that, if a sharp tongue is not enough, then even a frying pan, thrown with precision, can serve as a weapon to defend one’s point of view with equal efficiency!

è decisamente una romantica sognatrice. Talmente sognatrice da non distinguere più la realtà dalla fantasia. I suoi sogni non sono comuni, sono veri e propri viaggi nel passato tra il Medioevo e il Regency. Non a caso in storia aveva 9 (l'unico direi)!
A completare il tutto c'è la passione per i libri. Dall'età di 16 anni infatti non si muove senza un libro in borsa. Legge in qualsiasi momento e in ogni luogo: al semaforo, in fila dal dottore, per strada! E se un libro la coinvolge particolarmente non lo molla nemmeno per andare in bagno! Il suo genere preferito è quello rosa. Dopo aver letto "Il castello di Connor" di Julie Garwood scoccò subito la scintilla dell'amore. Quel cocktail di passione/amore/ storia sarebbe stata la "bevanda" della sua vita.
Predilige gli eroi solitari, misteriosi, complessi e tormentati, e nutre un attrazione particolare nei confronti dei pirati. Riguardo ai personaggi femminili invece preferisce le figure più semplici, con un carattere deciso ma non prevaricante rispetto all'uomo (l'uomo deve essere l'uomo… sempre!).
Le sue autrici preferite sono: Connie Mason, Nicole Jordan, Karen Robards, Elizabeth Lane, Brenda Joyce e l'ineguagliabile Candace Camp.
Se fosse un'eroina romance...
... sarebbe senza ombra di dubbio Ariella de Warenne, la protagonista di "Passione gitana" di Brenda Joyce. Una donna indipendente, amante della lettura e delle conoscenze, acuta, decisa di fronte a ogni situazione ma fragile e disarmata quando incontra il grande amore.
VeronicaBennet is definitely a romantic daydreamer. And she goes so far that she cannot distinguish any more the reality from the fantasy. Her reveries are not the simple ones, they are real voyages in the past, between the Medieval and the Regency. In fact, it was not by chance that she had a "B" in History (the only one, to tell the truth)!
To complete it all, there is the love for the books. Since she was sixteen, in fact, she doesn't move if a book is not tucked in her bag. Da allora, in aggiunta agli amati horror e ai thriller avventurosi, divora romance paranormali, urban fantasy e contempoeranei, ma digerisce poco gli storici, a meno che non siano usciti dalla penna di Connie Brockway.
La sua passione rimangono i vampiri e gli eroi cupi e tormentati, anche un po' bastardi dentro, ma molto molto passionali.
Ama scrivere di sè che i libri della serie ICE di Anne Stuart e quelli di Anita Blake di Laurell. K. hamilton, sono quelli da cui non si separerebbe mai.

... potrebbe essere Victoria Gardella delle Gardella's Chronicles di Colleen Gleason: riesce quasi sempre a cavarsela da sola, è istruita nell'arte del combattimento ma sa essere anche molto femminile. Inoltre è contesa da ben due aitanti cacciatori di vampiri!

After the period of the imposed books to read was over, she threw herself into reading horrors and thrillers.
Her adolescency was marked by the books written by Stephen King and by Eric Van Lustbader's Ninjas. Then she fell in love with Jeffery Deaver, of whom she still keeps gelously a book with his dedication and autograph. In her more mature (but not much more!) age, she started reading Romance, thanks to the "Ice" series by A. Stuart.
Since then, adding to her beloved horrors and thrillers, she gobbles up paranormal romances, urban fantasy and contemporaries. She is not very fond of Historicals, with the only exception of Connie Brockway's books.
Her favourite characters will always be vampires, brooding and tormented heroes, slightly bastards, but ever so passionate.
She always likes to add, that she would never separate herself from the "Ice" series by Anne Suart and the "Anita Blake" series by Laurell K. Hamilton.
If she were a romance heroine...
...she could be Victoria Gardella from Colleen Gleason's "Gardella's Cronicles": she manages almost always to get herself alone out of trouble, she is trained to fight but she can be very feminine too. Further more, she is sought-after by two very sturdy vampire hunters!

L'incontro con il romance è avvenuto prima in tv, a dieci anni, con i mitici Candy Candy e Terence e poi a seguire con tutte altre eroine romantiche di film e cartoni animati. Quando ha capito che esistevano anche libri sul genere ne è diventata una appassionata collezionista e oggi ne ha talmente tanti che è costretta a infilarli persino fra le pentole. Predilige storie sensuali, profonde, e soprattutto ben scritte, ama personaggi maschili forti e ironici, ma anche complessi e tormentati come Derek Craven di "Sognando te".

Even as a little girl, Poppy wasn’t the one to ask for a doll to play with, or a dress, but to learn to read as soon as possible…..and ever since the moment she learned how to, she couldn’t stop herself any more. She reads everything and everywhere. “The Name of the Rose” was her first “adult” book, and it made her fall in love with the History, the Latin language and with the reading in general. She has gotten a degree in Literature and History of Arts, and she is working as a professor. ... she would be for sure Lillian Bowman from “It Happened One Autumn” by Lisa Kleypas: sincere, talkative, clumsy, and a bit of a tomboy, absolutely incapable of any conscious kind of seduction, and convinced that a friendship between woman is one of the most important and wonderful things in life.

sarebbe sicuramente Anais, l'eroina di "Oblio e Passione" perchè è il suo romanzo preferito, quello di cui conosco le frasi ed i periodi a memoria,
quello che rilegge ogni due mesi, quello di cui ha le frasi appuntate nei post it sui vetri in camera ... e che che non scorderà mai e poi mai!

...sarebbe Tess protagonista del romanzo di Eloisa James ‘Non senza di te’ (Much ado about you) non bellissima, molto responsabile e pronta a sacrificarsi (ma fino ad un certo punto) per il bene delle sorelle, che aspetta (un po’ stizzita) che l’uomo di cui si è innamorata si faccia finalmente avanti e dopo che finalmente l’ha fatto, il malandrino, non vorrà mica farle credere che era per beneficienza vero? Le piace perché Tess non perde mai la speranza, non si arrende neanche quando soffre, sa aspettare e perdonare e alla fine ne è valsa la pena!

She reads everything, without prejudice, and, even though, the genres like Horror or SF are not the top of her list, historical fiction and Romance, on the other hand, are her daily foods. Her encounter with Romance was unintentional, and she does not remember if her first romance novel was the one she was reading in chapters that were published weekly in an Italian woman’s weekly magazine “Intimità”, or it was one of those short romance novels that you could detach from a journal. Then her aunt started bringing the books by Liala and Delly at first, and then, later on, Harmony Romance. For her fifteenth birthday, another aunt brought her as a gift Kathleen E. Woodiwiss’s “Ashes in the Wind”, and for her, it was a revelation. But, following was the saddest period in which she had thought, just like some very mad person would have, that, if you live a great love, you do not have to read about it too. And so she abandoned the genre until she didn’t “grow old”. Now it is that same great love that built her 10 meters of library so she could place in the whole collection of her books…..he wouldn’t have been a great love otherwise, no? She prefers stories filled with irony and doesn’t like the natural-born bastard hero. She has very high expectations from the heroines, and if the main female character is not up to the male one, or vice-versa, the story, no matter how well written, will never gain the maximum praise. Other than K.E Woodiwiss, her favourite romance authors, who have at least one book that was judged as fantastic are: Jo Beverley, Jo Goodman, Julia Quinn, Teresa Medeiros, Amanda Quick, Lisa Kleypas, Roberta Ciuffi and Ornella Albanese. Her favourite hero is the Marquis of Rothgar (“Devilish” by Jo Beverley).
If she were a romance heroine...
... she would be Tess, the main female character from “Much Ado about You” by Eloisa James. Not extremely beautiful, very responsible and ready to sacrifice (until a certain point though) for the good of her sisters, she is waiting (a bit miffed) for the man with whom she fell in love, to make his first step. But then, after he finally does it, the libertine that he is, he is not going to convince her that it was all for a good cause, right? She likes Tess because she never looses hope, she does not surrender even if she is suffering, she knows to wait and to forgive, and at the end, she proves that it was worth the trouble!
