Alan Rawsthorne (1905 – 1971)

Compositore britannico di vocazione tardiva ma di alto profilo Alan Rawsthorne  (1905-1971) scrisse musica orchestrale e da camera in uno stile essenziale, disadorno, ma di grande efficacia espressiva.  Compose un solo, magistrale brano per chitarra (Elegy),rimasto incompiuto e terminato da Julian Bream, che ne fu il dedicatario e il primo esecutore.
