Anglesey Symposium 2015: an invaluable week!

Che settimana!
Piena di pagaiate, corsi, incontri, amici, emozioni, imprevisti, soluzioni (geniali ed elementari al tempo stesso!), chiacchierate, risate, bevute e giochi in compagnia, sia in acqua che a terra!
Il Symposium di Anglesey è sempre speciale, ogni anno diverso ma sempre più intrigante. Stavolta è stato anche mooooolto bagnato: ha piovuto tutta la settimana, con la sola eccezione di mercoledì. La tenda che ho condiviso con Trenk ha retto bene ma uscire al mattino sotto la pioggia battente non è stato proprio il massimo del divertimento! Che, invece, non è mai (mai!) mancato in kayak!!!
Ho avuto l'occasione di insegnare nel corso di "rolling&rescue" e nella sessione di "tidal race" nel Menai Strait, di osservare il corso di navigazione costiera, di insegnare in collaborazione con altri due 'coach' nel corso e nell'esame 4* BCU, di aiutare gli italiani con le traduzioni simultanee (specie quando si sono offerti come 'cavie' nella prova di navigazione notturna dell'esame 5* BCU!), di partecipare alle varie serate di presentazione di viaggi incredibili ai quattro angoli del mondo (Groenlandia, Tasmania, Alaska, Bahamas e altri ancora...) È stata una settimana piena di bellissime esperienze. Una settimana davvero impagabile!

What a week!
Full of paddling activities, sessions, meetings, friends, problems&solutions, chats, laughs, drinks and games, either on the water and on the land!
The Anglesey Symposium is always a special one, every year better that the year before. This time was pretty wet, rainy days during the entire week (except for Wednesday!) and lot of mud everywhere. The tent I shared with Trenk was very good, the only disadvantage was going out every morning under the heavy rain!
However, I had lot of paddling fun, coaching the rolling&rescue session, assisting the tidal race session in the Menai Strait, observing the coastal navigation and tidal planning course, co-delivering the 4* training and assessment, helping the Italians with the translation (expecially for their night navigation as mock-students in the 5* assessment!), partecipating in the evening presentations about amazing sea kayak expeditions all around the world (Greenland, Tasmania, Alaska, Bahamas and more!) It was a week full of worderful experiences! Invaluable indeed!
