Vi ricordate allo scorso Google I/O quando venne annunciato Google Now on Tap, ovvero quella funzionalità che permetteva di effettuare una ricerca contestuale in base a che cosa il display mostrava? Ancora tale feature non è arrivata ( Tocca e cerca: ecco come Google Chrome anticipa Google Now on Tap) e molto probabilmente farà il suo esordio con Android 6.0 Marshmallow ( Tocca e cerca: ecco come Google Chrome anticipa Google Now on Tap).
Nelle scorse ore abbiamo scoperto che la concorrenza, stavolta rappresentata da Microsoft, non è rimasta a guardare. Il colosso di Redmond infatti ha rilasciato un aggiornamento per quanto riguarda l'applicazione Bing per Android introducendo proprio la ricerca contestuale. Essa viene chiamata Snapshot ma il fine è lo stesso di Google Now on Tap:
To showcase what the new Knowledge and Action Graph API can do for app developers, we are updating the Bing App on Android with snapshots that users can launch outside of the Bing App itself.
Just long-press the home button and Bing will scan your screen, identify the destination, and show you a snapshot with key facts about that destination, along with connections into relevant apps and services, like AirBnB, TripAdvisor, Lonely Planet, and others. You get all this information without ever having to leave the app.
