Ladies and gentlemen I am pleased to introduce you the Brueghel family. They are hosted in Rome  in an exhibit dedicated to all the Brueghel family, icon of the Flemish painting in  the seventeenth century.
The exhibit collects many their works from the private collections, the museums, the national and international exhibit.  In the sunny Rome you have a look at the northern Flemish painting which was a real reference point for all the European painting.
Despite the Flemish painting had already existed from about two centuries, the Brueghel family introduced some important innovations in this painting genre. The painting until then had been particularly linked to the religious portraits and instead Pieter the Elder broke away from these traditional iconography to approach the landscapes land.
Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch he came close to the style almost grotesque. What is surprising is that these stylistic innovations do not stop at a single author as a lone voice in the chorus but it becomes the brand supporting by an entire family for five more generations.
Their  style of painting became a new style  included in the art manuals.
This exhibit is a unique opportunity to enjoy a piece of history of the north Europe.

Signori e signore sono lieta di presentarvi la famiglia Brueghel. Ospiti a Roma di una mostra a loro dedicata la famiglia Brueghel rappresentarono la pittura fiamminga del Seicento . La raccolta raccoglie molti loro lavori da collezioni private , musei nazionali ed internazionali. Nella soleggiata Roma si ha uno sguardo alla pittura nordica fiamminga  che fu un vero e proprio punto di riferimento per tutta la pittura europea. Nonostante la pittura fiamminga esistesse già da circa due secoli i Brueghel apportarono delle novità importanti nel genere. La pittura fino ad allora era rimasta particolarmente legata ai ritratti religiosi e invece  Pieter il Vecchio si staccò da queste iconografie classiche per avvicinarsi a paesaggi più terreni. Ispirandosi a Hieronymus Bosch si avvicinò molto allo stile quasi grottesco. Ciò che sorprende è che queste innovazioni stilistiche non si fermano ad un unico autore come voce solitaria nel coro ma diventano il marchio portante di un’intera famiglia che per altre cinque generazioni afferma il suo modo di dipingere facendolo diventare un nuovo stile da annoverare nei manuali d’arte.
