I recently published a tutorial on how to make the enamel dots, which are coloured half-beads used to decorate albums, cards, boxes, etc..
Se acquistate gli enamel dots già pronti, scoprirete che sono bellissimi, ma anche molto costosi considerando che si esauriscono in un soffio quando si usano nelle creazioni. Per questo esiste un'alternativa che ho scovato girando per il web e che consiste nello sciogliere delle perline chiamate Hama beads.
If you purchase the ready made enamel dots, you'll discover that they're beautiful, but also very expensive considering that run out in a flash when used on our creations. So there's an alternative that I found browsing the web: to fuse the Hama beads.
Le Hama beads si presentano come dei cilindri cavi e vengono inserite in lavagne con delle sporgenze, per creare delle figure, come fossero dei pixel. Con queste perle è anche possibile creare disegni "a mano libera" quindi senza la guida oppure oggetti in 3D. Poi passando sopra un ferro da stiro, le perle si fondono insieme e la figura si consolida.
Per creare i nostri enamel dots, dovremo far sciogliere quasi completamente queste perle, in modo da ottenere delle cupole lisce e lucide.

The Hama beads are hollow cylinders created to be inserted on whiteboards to create the figures, as if they were pixels. With these beads you can also create designs "freehand" without the guide or 3D objects. Then passing over an iron, the beads fuse together and figure consolidates.
To create our enamel dots, we'll melt almost completely these pearls, so you'll get some smooth and shiny domes.

Come avete visto nel video, utilizzo un forno per sciogliere le perle. Io ho un fornetto apposito per l'handmade e ho usato quello anche in questo progetto, ma potete tranquillamente utilizzare anche il forno della vostra cucina in questo caso, perchè non ci saranno ripercussioni dannose.As you saw in the video, I used an oven to melt the beads. I've an oven dedicated to the craft, just the one I used in this project, but you can safely use the oven in your kitchen in this case, because there will be no harmful effects.
