Compleanno estivo nel cortile dietro casa!

I don’t have too much time to cook during these weeks, so I fished out some pics of some time ago...it was a hot Saturday afternoon during my Australian summer and we had to celebrate a birthday! The aim was cook something good...the result? A mix of flavors and colors that started from the Mediterranean up to South America: Tuscan bread (which despite required 9 hours of rising, was perfect!), handmade hummus and South Americans dishes as Carapulcra without forgetting olives, cheese and vegetables. The guests? A mix of different cultures, as often happens here in Australia: English, French, Spanish, Dutch, South Americans, Australian and Asian, all different, but all gathered around the same table to taste flavors from far lands. Another confirmation that everywhere in the world, food can get everyone agree and a mix of different traditions and cultures can create successful parties! When I look to all this I understand why I can spend all this time cooking ...food is sharing, passion and love for people. To you some pics, maybe you’ll find inspirations for some summer’s dinners! Non ho molto tempo per cucinare in queste ultime settimane, quindi sono andata a ripescare alcune foto di un pò di tempo fa…era un caldo sabato pomeriggio, piena estate asutraliana e c’era da festeggiare un compleanno! L’obbiettivo era: cuciniamo qualcosa di buono…il risultato? Un mix di sapori e colori che partivano dal mediterraneo fino ad arrivare in sud America: pane toscano (che nonostante abbia richiesto 9 ore di leivitazione è riusciuto benissimo), Hummus fatto a mano per arrivare a piatti sud Americani come Carapulcra senza dimenticare olive, formaggi e verdure. Gli invitati? Un mix di culture diverse, come spesso accade qui in Australia: inglesi, francesi, spagnoli, olandesi, sud americani, australiani e asiatici, tutti diversi tra loro, ma tutti riuniti attorno alla stesso tavolo ad assaggiare sapori di terre più o meno lontane. Che dire l’ennesima conferma che ovunque nel mondo, il cibo riesce a mettere tutti d'accordo e che tradizioni e culture diverse, mescolandosi possono dar vita a party davvero riusciti!!!! Quando vedo tutto questo capisco perchè riesco a spendere tutto questo tempo a cucinare…il cibo è condivisione, passione e amore per le persone.
