La Awards Season si fa sempre più intensa e dopo le candidature degli Screen Actors Guild e dei Golden Globes sono arrivate da pochi giorni anche le Nomination dei 20° Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, i premi assegnati annualmente dalla Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), formata da importanti critici cinematografici appartenenti alle principali testate giornalistiche statunitensi.
Ancora una volta è Birdman di Alejandro González Iñárritu ad ottenere più Nonimation, addirittura 13, precedendo The Grand Budapest Hotel di Wes Anderson (11), Boyhood di Richard Linklater (8), Interstellar di Christopher Nolan (7), The Imitation Game di Morten Tyldum e Gone Girl di David Fincher (6 ciascuno), The Theory of Everything di James Marsh e Into The Woods di Rob Marshall (5). E’ comunque molto ampio il numero di film rappresentati, alcuni dei quali già in corsa per SAG e Golden Globes, ma in questo caso ecco anche grandi blockbuster come Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, con Jennifer Lawrence candidata tra le Migliori Attrici in un film d’azione, quindi Guardians of the Galaxy e Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Sempre tra le attrici conferme per Jessica Chastain come candidata a Best Supporting Actress per A Most Violent Year e per Julianne Moore come Best Actress per Still Alice.
La cerimonia si terrà il prossimo 15 Gennaio 2015 a Los Angeles. E, con ogni probabilità, avremo indicazioni importanti in vista della notte degli Oscar. Si dice che proprio i Critics’ Choice Awards, infatti, regalino ogni anno gli indizi maggiori di quelle che saranno le decisioni dell’Academy. E vedremo se anche stavolta si ripeterà tale circostanza! Considerazione personale, ancora una volta: stride l’assenza di Interstellar nella categoria di Miglior Film, presente solo in Miglior Film di Fantascienza o Horror… del tutto assurdo.
