Dariusz Klimczak: alla fine sono un free lance

Che un mio punto debole sia la fotografia “surreale”, si era capito dai tempi dell’articolo su Chema Madoz. Ma Dariusz Klimczak in più si gioca la carta del colore e quando ho scoperto questa sua intervista, ho deciso che dovevo parlarne qui.

That my weak point is the “surreal” picture, it was clear from the time of Chema Madoz article. But Dariusz Klimczak plays his ace card using colors and when I found this interview with him, I decided that I needed to talk about it here.

Fotografo, giornalista e pittore polacco, ha dichiarato di aver sempre giocato con i fotomontaggi perchè la foto “classica” lo annoia. Forse è proprio la realtà ad annoiarlo e d’altronde chi non vorrebbe vivere almeno un giorno in un contesto del tutto nuovo, diverso, imprevedibile e sconosciuto? Guardando queste immagini, mi sembra di essere davanti alla scena di un libro non ben identificato e che magari non è neppure stato scritto, ma che potrebbe piacermi.

Photographer, journalist and Polish painter, he said he had always played with the photo montages because the “classical” photography bores him. Maybe it’s just the reality to bore and besides who would not want to live at least one day in a totally new, different, unpredictable and unknown contest? Looking at these pictures, I seem to be in a scene of a book not well identified and maybe not even been written, but I might like.

Pare di sfogliare fotografie rubate dal mondo di Alice o da quello del mago di Oz oppure direttamente dal cervello di Tim Burton: così nitide, precise, paradossalmente iperreali.
Quale miglior augurio si può fare per il nuovo anno se non di trovare attimi di surrealismo in mezzo a ciò che è fin troppo reale?

It seems to leaf through photos stolen from the world of Alice or the Wizard of Oz or directly from the brain of Tim Burton: they’re so sharp, precise, paradoxically hyperreal.
What better wish I can do for the new year if not finding moments of surrealism in the midst of what is even too real?
