Decorare le magliette con ricamo e uncinetto – Decorating t-shirts with crochet and embroidery

Tanti mesi fa vi avevo mostrato una piccola idea per rendere meno noiosa una maglietta che mio figlio aveva passato alla sorellina. A ogni cambio di taglia spuntano fuori nuove magliette ovviamente, e visto che ultimamente quando non dipingo ho in mano l’uncinetto ho pensato di utilizzarlo per un nuovo restyling.
Some months ago I showed you a method to easily restyle a t-shirt my daughter ‘inherited’ from her big brother. Of course, every time the kids change size I find some more t-shirts I would love to ‘pimp’ a bit. And since lately when I’m not painting I’m crocheting, I decided to use crochet for my next experiment.

Ho fatto un primo esperimento con delle stelline avanzate da un altro progetto (che vi mostrerò presto): questa estate mentre cercavo la dimensione giusta ne ho fatte tante ‘sbagliate’ e le ho tenute da parte senza avere un’idea precisa. Poi mi è venuto in mente di fissarle su una maglietta azzurra, e di ricamare dei semplici gambi come se si trattasse di fiori. La maglietta mi è piaciuta moltissimo, tanto che ho subito replicato: con dei fiori, e poi ancora con altri fiorellini creati tanto tempo fa per ungiocattolo riciclato per bebè che ora non serve più…
I begun with some stars I had left from another project I made in summer (that I will show you next week). I stitched them on the t-shirt and embroidered two simple stems, like if they would be flowers. I loved it, so I made two more with flowers – two of them were left from a recycled baby toy that we don’t need anymore…

Non sono un’esperta di uncinetto e lavoro molto d’istinto, però provo a scrivervi comunque come procedere per creare i fiori – se trovate qualche errore per favore avvertitemi! Il progetto delle stelle ve lo lascerò la prossima settimana.
Dimensioni diverse si ottengono con uncinetti di diversa misura.
I’m really not an expert talking about crochet, and I work a lot following my inspiration. I’ll try anyway to tell you how to make the flowers (for the stars you will have to wait until next week)- please tell me if you find any mistakes!
I got different sizes using different hooks.

1° giro: fate una catenella di cinque maglie e chiudetela.
2° giro: attenzione fate partire i vostri punti dall’interno del cerchio ottenuto, non nelle maglie della catenella! So che si poteva partire anche da un semplice ‘cerchio di filo’ ma io mi trovo meglio a lavorare in questo modo.
Lavorate due punti altissimi poi una catenella di due (o tre, dipende davvero dalla dimensione della vostra maglia). Ripetete altre quattro volte e chiudete.
3° giro: fate un punto bassissimo tra le due maglie altissime. Fate una catenella di tre e poi due punti alti nello spazio delimitato dalla catenella del secondo giro. Fate un’altra catenella di tre, fissate al centro delle due maglie alte e ripetete il procedimento altre quattro volta. Chiudete.
1° make a chain of five stitchs, close it.
2° please work starting from inside the circle you created, not on the stitches. I know you could have begun with a simple circle, but I feel more comfortable working this way.
Crochet two trebles (triple crochet) then a chain of two (or three, it really depends a lot on the yarn). Repeat four more times.
3° make a slip stitch in between the two trebles, then a chain of three. Crochet two trebles in the space under the chain, crochet a chain of three, fix with a slip stitch between the trebles. Repeat four more times and close.

Il punto usato per i gambi è chiamato punto a catenella, non è affatto complicato e se fate una ricerca troverete un sacco di tutorial.
…spero che le spiegazioni siano abbastanza chiare. Una volta capito il meccanismo è facile apportare variazioni al modello base secondo i vostri gusti. Ho provato a disegnarlo, spero che si capisca (è il primo schema che ho mai scritto!).
The stitch I used for the embroidery is called ‘chain stitch’ and you can easily find a lot of tutorials online to learn how to do it.
…I hope my indications are clear enough. The diagram is really is to modify to adapt to your needs. I tried to draw it, hopefully it makes sense (it is my first diagram ever!)

A proposito di stelle, ultimamente ne ho riempito anche le mie casette. Mi sono detta che una volta cadute le foglie ai rami doveva pur restare appeso qualcos’altro…
