Denis O’Hare: “Vincent Price era il mio idolo”

E’ cresciuto guardando i film horror dei suoi tempi, quelli in cui il protagonista era l’eccelso Vincent Price, ed è finito per interpretare serie tv che seguono il filone horror. Dal Re Vampiro del Mississipi in True Blood, Russell Edgington, a Larry Harvey, lo sfigurato vecchio proprietario della casa che tormenta i nuovi inquilini cercando la pace per se stesso nella nuova serie “American Horror Story”. Denis giudica Russell molto più cattivo di Larry, ecco la sua descrizione:

“Russell is much more scary than Larry,” O’Hare said of his two recent TV alter egos. “Russell is a passionate character whose only motivation is to stay alive. He is so filled with forward motion and momentum about what he wants to do that he’s burning up with a desire to act. Of course, Russell is amoral in the great pagan sense — he doesn’t have the burden of our Judeo-Christian morals. He’s hard to parse because he’s playing by a different rule book.”
