Si sa che la Spagna è famosa anche per la sua cucina, quindi in ogni mio viaggio mi metto alla ricerca di posti dove mangiare specialità del luogo.
Se avete voglia di una buona paella accompagnata da dell’ottima sangria, non vi resta che andare a La Fonda.
Ho trovato per caso questo ristorante su internet prima della mia partenza nel 2009, e dopo averlo provato ormai siamo diventati clienti affezionati durante ogni nostra visita nel capoluogo catalano.
Il ristorante si trova in una traversa delle famose Ramblas, e da fuori sembra un locale elegante e costoso ma, dopo poca attesa (se siete fortunati come noi.. nulla!), vedrete che rimarrete ampiamente soddisfatti dal locale, dal personale e dall’ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
Durante il nostro ultimo soggiorno abbiamo ordinato:
- Papas Bravas, servite normalmente come tapas, sono patate fritte accompagnate da una salsa simil maionese con aglio e paprika. Le adoro!!!
- Un mixed starter della casa con anelli di calamari fritti, una quiche prosciutto e formaggio buonissima, crocchette di patate, jamon iberico e pane con salsiccia catalana

La spese totale è stata di 40€, direi un prezzo più che accettabile visto che con quella paella ci mangiavamo tranquillamente in 3 (io da sola ne ho mangiati tre piatti… lo so! Faccio schifo ma non so resistere a questa bontà!!)
Pur essendo centrale (arrivando dal porto è una traversa sulla dx appena prima della Boqueria) i prezzi sono onestissimi e la qualità è ottima, per cui se andate a Barcellona segnatevi questo indirizzo:

We all know that Spain is also famous for its cuisine, so in every trip i look for some different places to go to eat some local food.
If you want to enjoy a really good paella and some sangria, you must go to La Fonda.
I’ve found this restaurant on the web before my first trip to the city, in 2009, and after trying it we’ve become loyal costumers.
The restaurant is located near the famous Ramblas, and from the outside it looks like elegant and expensive but, after a short wait, you’ll be fully satisfied by the staff, the quality and theprice too.
During our last visit we ordered:
- Papas Bravas, normally served as tapas, that are french fries accompanied by a mayonnaise sauce with garlic and paprika. I love them!
- A mixed home-starter with fried squid rings, ham & cheese quiche, croquettes, bread with catalan sausage..
- Paella de Marisco, which I think is very good here
All accompanied by 1l of sangria.
The total cost was 40€ and I would say that is acceptable, since that you quietly eat in 3 people with that paella (I’ve eaten three plates … I know! I suck but I can’t resist this goodness!)
Despite being central (coming from the port is on the right just before the Boqueria Market) prices are very honest and the quality is excellent, so if you go to Barcelona remember this address:
