E-Bow The Letter

New Adventures in Hi-Fi è un album degli R.E.M. legato a filo doppio alla mia adolescenza, essendo datato 1996. I tratti caratteristici dell'album sono facilmente individuabili in un alone di malinconia e disillusione, con melodie struggenti e liriche che segnano l'anima. Tra i pezzi migliori dell'intero lavoro c'è E-Bow the letter, una ballad drammatica in cui la voce di Michael Stipe abbraccia quella di Patti Smith in un crescendo di chitarre acustiche e strumenti elettronici che esaltano la forza emotiva del brano.Patti Smith e Michael Stipe non sono soltanto due tra i mostri sacri della musica rock di tutti i tempi ma anche delle icone di stile: lei ha un look androgino, spesso black&white, lui è istrionico e anticonformista.
Gli outfit che seguono rappresentano un mio piccolo e personale omaggio alla loro arte.

New Adventures in Hi-Fi is one of the album of the American band R.E.M. that is strictly tied to my adolescence, because it's dated 1996. The characteristic features of the album are easily identifiable in an aura of melancholy and disillusionment, with haunting melodies and lyrics that mark the soul. Among the best pieces of the whole work there is E-Bow the Letter, a dramatic ballad in which the voice of Michael Stipe embrace that one of Patti Smith in a crescendo of acoustic guitars and electronic instruments that enhance the emotional power of music.
Patti Smith and Michael Stipe are not only two giants of rock music of all time but also icons of style: she has an androgynous look, often black and white, he is theatrical and unconventional.
The following outfit represents my little and personal tribute to their art.
