E vorrei vederne altre…

Ogni volta che ho incontrato le fotografie di Mario Dondero, mi sono soffermata qualche secondo in più rispetto a quanto faccio di solito.

Every time I met the photographs of Mario Dondero, I stopped a few seconds longer than I usually do.

C'è una luce così calda nelle sue immagini, così rassicurante. C'è sempre qualcuno che ride, che parla, che è un po' a disagio o del tutto spontaneo ma in ogni caso - che si tratti di personaggi famosi o di gente comune - si percepisce una grande semplicità, rara e mai banale, che probabilmente era trasmessa da lui, che stava dietro l'obiettivo.
Al di là dei chilometri, gli ostacoli e a volte la terribile sofferenza di chi veniva ritratto nei suoi reportage, il risultato è una sorta di "zona franca" pacifica in cui tutti possiamo/vogliamo riconoscerci.
La sua raffinata sensibilità - non solo in senso artistico - mi ha sempre stregato. E poi ho trovato questo video, dove lui parla delle sue fotografie e le racconta così bene che sembra di vederle muoversi. E vorrei vederne altre...

In his pictures there's a so hot, so reassuring light. There is always someone laughing, talking, which is a little uncomfortable or completely spontaneous but in any case - be it celebrities or ordinary people - you feel a great simplicity, rare and never banal, that probably it was transmitted by him, who was behind the lens.
Beyond kilometers, obstacles and sometimes the terrible pain of those who were portrayed in his report, the result is a sort of a peaceful "free zone" where all of us can/want to recognize.
His refined sensibility - not only in the artistic sense - has always bewitched me. And then I found this video where he talks about his photographs and narrate them so well that it seems to see them move. And I would like to see more...
