This historical trilogy tells the stories of the components of the Heavenly Host private club, whose rich and annoyed members are devoted to the pursuit of the most wicked pleasures of the flesh. The author informs us that the idea of such a close circle was inspired by the Hellfire Club, a secret society born in the middle of 1700 and composed by many leading figures of the English society , who loved to wallow in pleasures which were considered shockingly bawdy according the epoque’s moral sense.
The prequel of the trilogy, “The wicked house of Rohan”, tells about the origin of the Heavenly Host by the means of Alistair Rohan and Kathleen Strong’s story.
The name of the wicked family, the Rohans, whose components are the main characters of the three stories, comes from the movie “ The man in Gray” with James Mason ( 1943), but it’s an unconscious homage to one among Stuart’s favourite heroes: Cam Rohan, the main character of Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas.

In questa trilogia storica le vicende ruotano intorno ai membri di un club privato, chiamato Heavenly Host, all’interno del quale lo scopo principale dei ricchi annoiati componenti è il perseguimento di dissoluti piaceri carnali.
L’autrice racconta che l’idea di questo circolo privato ha trovato ispirazione nell’Hellfire Club - Il Club infernale – associazione segreta fondata a metà del 1700, comprendente personaggi di spicco della società inglese che amavano lasciarsi andare a piaceri considerati indecenti per la morale del tempo. Il prequel della serie, “The wicked house of Rohan” , narra appunto la genesi dell’Heavenly Host attraverso la storia di Alistair Rohan e Kathleen Strong.
Il nome della scellerata famiglia Rohan, i cui componenti rappresentano i protagonisti delle tre storie, è tratto dal personaggio principale di un film con James Mason, intitolato “L’uomo in grigio” del 1943, ma è anche un inconsapevole omaggio a uno degli eroi preferiti della Stuart: Cam Rohan , protagonista di Mine Till Midnight di Lisa Kleypas.
