Eurovision 2014: vince l'Austria con Conchita Wurst in ''Rise Like A Phoenix''

Conchita Wurst ha trionfato nella finale a 26 di Eurovision 2014 - 59esima edizione della competizione canora paneuropea - sulle note di ''Rise Like A Phoenix'', in un clima di festa molto colorato e fra lo sventolare delle bandiere austriache. Il successo è stato decretato da 290 voti.

Seconda l'Olanda (con 'Calm after the storm', cantata da The Common Linnets) e terza la Svezia (con 'Undo', interpretata da Sanna Nielsen). Niente da fare invece per Emma, in gara per l'Italia con 'La mia città' che termina solo 21°. Ma soprattutto niente da fare per Mariya Yaremtchouk, la rappresentante ucraina messa suo malgrado ieri al centro della scena dall'ex pugile Vitali Klitschko, uno dei protagonisti della rivolta di Maidan a Kiev, che nel pieno della crisi in atto con Mosca aveva provato a mischiare musica e politica invitando le giurie a votare la beniamina del suo Paese e a penalizzare viceversa le concorrenti russe (le gemelline diciassettenni Masha e Nastia), per fare un 'dispetto' a Vladimir Putin. Un appello che era stato subito criticato da alcuni musicisti e addetti ai lavori e che comunque non sembra aver avuto effetto: se Masha e Nastia - senza sorprese - non hanno vinto, neppure Mariya è riuscita a issarsi in alto nella classifica finale. A organizzare la 60esima edizione di Eurovision, nel 2015, dovrà essere ora - da regolamento - l'Austria.
