From Pants to Skirt: a Refashion for Me!

This time I've decided to sew for me: a pencil skirt tailor-made (I've also created the pattern), formed by three pairs of pants (2 denim and a cotton one) used to achieve an (optical) "slimming" effect, thanks to the vertical colorblocks: the center is on the light color when the sides are darker.
To create a custom pattern I followed the method shared by Elisa (thanks) on his blog: easy to follow and with a guaranteed result!The next two tutorials I want to try are: the one Melissa shared on the Sewing Loft blog in  March and this shared from Deby of So Sew Easy: for this summer I think I'll have three beautiful new skirts ... or at least I hope!
Ho deciso di cucire per me questa volta: una gonna "a pennello" cucita su misura (creando anche il cartamodello), ricavata da tre paia di pantaloni (2 di jeans e uno di cotone) usati in modo da ottenere un effetto (ottico) "snellente" grazie ai blocchi di colore verticali: al centro il chiaro e sui fianchi il più scuro. Per creare il cartamodello su misura ho seguito il metodo condiviso da Elisa (che ringrazio) sul suo blog: facile da seguire e dal risultato garantito!
I prossimi due tutorial che voglio provare sono quello di Melissa condiviso sul blog The Sewing Loft nel mese di marzo e questo che ha messo in comune Deby di So Sew Easy e per quest'estate credo che avrò tre stupende gonne nuove... o almeno spero!
So, I took these pants:Allora, sono partita da questi pantaloni:
I've modified the pattern obtained by following the procedure explained in detail in Elisa's tutorial  cutting my pattern vertically (both front and back) to about 3/4 of the distance center-side, to obtain a large central strip light-colored. Then I've joined the two strips of pattern left out, side by side along the straight bottom line, leaving the upper separate (this will be stitched with a sort of long dart, to form the side line).
Finally, a simple belt band, closed by a button (still to be stitched on, oops!). And last the hem with slit back.

Ho poi modificato il cartamodello ricavato seguendo il procedimento dettagliatamente spiegato nel tutorial di Elisa ritagliando il mio modello in verticale (sia sul davanti che sul dietro) a circa 3/4 della distanza centro/fianco, per ottenere una striscia centrale abbastanza ampia di colore chiaro. Ho poi unito le due strisce di cartamodello avanzate (lato fianco) lungo la linea retta inferiore, lasciando la parte superiore separata (verrà poi cucita con una sorta di lunga pince, a formare la linea del fianco).
Per ultimo un cinturino semplicissimo, chiuso da un bottone (ancora da attaccare, ops!) e l'orlo, con spacchetto posteriore.

What do you think? I like it enough, but here is still so cold that, to get some decorous pics I am a bit frozen ... so by now I didn't enjoyed it for a long time, my new skirt! We hope that spring is not very late!

Che cosa ve ne pare? A me piace abbastanza, anche se qui fa ancora così freddo che, per ottenere delle foto "decenti" mi sono un po' congelata... quindi per ora non me la sono goduta ancora molto, la mia gonna nuova! Speriamo che la primavera non tardi molto!!
