Happy blu Lisbon

Ogni anno organizzo una settimana di vacanza a spasso per l'Europa con le amiche di sempre. Il 2011 è stata la volta di Lisbona. Siamo partite senza giuda e senza essere troppo informate (molto male!) perchè questo è stato un anno impegnativo per tutte e al momento della partenza, gli esami sembravano essere finiti il giorno prima (in realtà era passato un mese) e così eravamo un po' abbandonate a noi stesse. Ma meglio ancora ai fini del nostro post: abbiamo scoperto la città con le nostre sole forze :).
L'esito - credo immaginiate - è stato decisamente positivo.
Every year I organize a week on holiday around Europe with my lifelong friends. The year 2011 was the turn of Lisbon. We left without guides, and without being informed too (very bad!) because this was a challenging year for all of us and, at the time of leaving, the university tests seemed to be finished the day before (it was actually a month) and so we were a little uninformed. But even better for our posts: we discovered the city by our own strength :).The outcome - I think you could imagine - was anyway extremely positive

Lisbona è la città con il cielo più azzurro che abbia mai visto. E' una capitale che - tolta la zona industriale/residenziale - non dà mai l'impressione della metropoli. Sembra una grande cittadina di mare. L'architettura è splendida e i ritmi di vita ottimi. I portoghesi conoscono quasi sempre bene l'inglese e qualche volta sanno anche qualche parola di italiano (hanno invece spesso problemi con lo spagnolo). Il cibo è buono e non caro e la vita notturna è accesa senza eccessi fastidiosi. Ma ora vi dico tutto nel dettaglio:
Lisbon is the city with the bluest skies I've ever seen. It's a capital that - except for the industrial / residential area - never gives the impression to be a metropolis. It looks like a great seaside town. The architecture is beautiful and the rhythms of life is great. The Portugueses almost always know English well and sometimes they also know a few words of Italian (they have some problem with spanish language). The food is good and inexpensive (but I'll tell you about it) and the nightlife is cool without annoying excesses. But now I tell you everything in detail:

Noi eravamo in quattro (tutte ragazze) e siamo riuscite a spendere in tutto abbastanza poco senza tanti sacrifici. A costare molto è stato il volo: diretto Milano Malpensa - Lisbona con easyjet è venuto a costare sui 350 €. C'è da dire che, per esigenze, abbiamo scelto la settimana di fuoco: dal 13 al 19 agosto. In altri periodi i prezzi sono migliori.
Per l'alloggio invece ci siamo affidate a bookin.com e, indecise tra l'albergo e l'alloggio, abbiamo trovato la via di mezzo:Pensao Residencial Roma ci ha offerto un alloggetto (con quindi cucina, angolo cottura, frigo, forno a microonde ecc) ma, di fatto, dentro ad un albergo (era infatti compresa nel prezzo la colazione), il tutto a 100 € a notte (quindi 25 a testa). In questo modo abbiamo potuto cenare a casa un paio di volte in modo da risparmiare un po' e tutte le mattine avevamo il buffet (c'è da dire: non ricchissimo, ma l'indispensabile c'era) a nostra disposizione. La soluzione si è poi rivelata essere stata saggia e molto comoda, anche perchè eravamo a pochi passi da Praça do Rossio, la (stupenda!) stazione nel cuore di Lisbona.
We were four (all girls) and we managed to spend pretty little without many sacrifices. Just the flight was very expensive: direct Milano Malpensa - Lisbon with easyJet cost about 350 €. NOte: we chose the 'week of fire': from 13 to 19 August. In other periods the prices are better. For accommodation we have chosen instead bookin.com. We were undecided between the hotel option or renting flat and we found the middle ground: Pensao Residencial Roma gave us a small lodging (with kitchen, kitchenette, fridge, oven microwave etc.) but inside a hotel (the breakfast was included in the price), all for € 100 per night (so it was 25 for each of us). In this way we could eat at home a couple of times to save some money, and every morning we had the buffet (not rich, but the essential was there) at our disposal. The solution turned out to be wise and it was very comfortable, especially because we were a short walk from Praça do Rossio, the (gorgeus!) station in the heart of Lisbon.
