I leoni di roma - lions in rome

Cari amici, passate bene le feste? Iniziato bene l'anno? Spero di sì. Dato che questi giorni sia a Roma che in altre parti d'Italia sta facendo veramente un tempo da lupi, ne approfitto oggi per dedicarmi a questo mio trascurato ma amato blog.In Italy we having not great weather these last days (it's so cold today...). It's time to stay warm in my home... So I would like to take the opportunity to publish something of new on my blog. Le foto a questo libricino in scala 1/12, "QUO VADIS", le ho fatte parecchi mesi fa ed attualmente si trova in mani amiche che l'hanno accolto con affetto e gioia e questo mi ha fatto veramente piacere. Non le avevo ancora pubblicate e quindi lo faccio ora. Bè i leoni l'hanno fatta da signori a Roma nel periodo degli antichi splendori... soprattutto nei circhi... Eterni nemici dei Gladiatori e innocenti nemici dei martiri romani. Ma anche oggi ce ne sono ancora molti che rimangono silenti testimoni della vecchiaia della loro stanca e antica signora: Roma. Ce ne sono tanti di Leoni presenti a Roma ma sono tutti di pietra o di marmo!!

Why this title?!? "Lions of Rome" or better Roman Lions... Well, the lion  is symbol of the Roman and Macedonian empires. Lions was the "Stars" in ancient Rome during the period of its former glory... especially in the circuses... Gladiators and Lyons was eternal enemies. Also for the Christian martyrs the Lyons was innocent enemies.... But even today there is someone of them who is silent witness of his tired ancient Lady: Rome. There are  lions everywhere in Rome but they are all made of stone!!

Alcuni sono delle statue mentre altri sono maestosi ornamenti di porte o palazzi... ne troviamo ovunque, anche sopra delle antiche monete romane nei musei romani oppure in splendidi dipinti, in mosaici e arazzi. Sono addirittura immortalati come affreschi originali dell'epoca nella catacombe romane o posti come guardiani di antichi obelischi o monumenti.  Insomma sono ancora tanti e ovunque. Silenziosi testimoni senza ruggito come a rappresentare in qualche modo l'anima e l'essenza di una Roma che non si rassegna ancora a morire.

Some of them are statues while others are majestic door knockers on doors or ornaments on old buildings... They are also above the ancient Roman coins or They are painted on famous paintings... Presents on mosaics or on tapestries... As antiques murals in the Catacombs in Rome as obelisks guardians. Therefore, there are still alive... present but silent as to represent in some way the soul and the essence of an antique Rome that does not want to die yet.Bene vi ho fatto conoscere ancora un piccolo aspetto della mia città e spero di non avervi annoiato. Io amo fare ricerche e scrivere anche perché non si finisce mai di imparare in umiltà e semplicità.So you know now an other aspect of my beautiful old Rome and I hope to have not bored you.
