È proprio vero che l’ispirazione può giungere nei modi più inattesi. Per questo post è arrivata da Riccardo e già il fatto che un ipovedente mi faccia scoprire un fotografo è piuttosto inatteso – appunto.
It’s really true that inspiration can come in the most unexpected ways. For this post it arrived from Riccardo and the simple fact that a visually impaired person makes me discover a photographer is - in fact – rather unexpected.

Sono stata immediatamente “folgorata” dalla profondità di indagine di Ian Teh e dalla cura nei dettagli dello slideshow.
Mi piacciono le inquadrature tagliate, i colori forti, il fatto che le persone siano così piccole nella scena, come ingranaggi inseriti in un sistema economico enorme, sovrastante e inarrestabile.
Si tratta di un servizio che racconta una situazione drammatica, non del tentativo di drammatizzare una situazione.
Credo sia il lavoro più bello che ho visto negli ultimi x mesi. Credo che sia quel che si vede quando si nuota in apnea invece di galleggiare in superficie.

I was immediately “struck” by the depth of investigation of Ian Teh and the attention to details of the slideshow.
I like the cropped shots, strong colors, the fact that people are so small in the scene, such as gears placed in a huge, impending and unstoppable economic system.
It is a series that tells a dramatic situation, not the attempt to dramatize a situation.
I think it’s the best job I’ve seen in the last x months. I think that’s what you see when swimming in apnoea instead of floating on the surface.
