Ero una bambina quando percorrevo il lungo mare di Genova tenuta per mano dalla mamma mentre aspettavamo che papà terminasse una qualche riunione. La destinazione era spesso l’antica gelateria che occupa da sempre il medesimo posto, affacciata sulla spiaggia di Boccadasse.
La chiesa sovrastante il borgo custodisce ex-voto legati a drammatici avvenimenti marini ma a me piaceva lo spazioso piazzale con vista sul mare, che a volte era punteggiato da bianche vele gonfie di vento.
Nessuno stabilimento balneare, ma barche di pescatori ai piedi delle case colorate, che giacciono arroccate strette in un contesto rimasto intatto, nonostante sia circondato da una grande città.
A guardare Boccadasse, rimasta inalterata come nei miei ricordi, sembra di avere di fronte una tela dipinta ad acquerello, sbiadita solo un po’ dal tempo.
Un borgo romantico da cui hanno tratto ispirazione scrittori e cantanti. Gino Paoli, che qui ha vissuto, le ha dedicato l’omonima canzone mentre Andrea Cammilleri immagina che a Boccadasse viva Livia, la fidanzata del commissario Montalbano.
Sotto il suo mare, si trova un sito d’interesse geologico e naturale per la presenza di praterie di posidonia e formazioni coralline…ma questo non potevo saperlo quando ero bambina.
Dopo tanti anni l’ho rivista e il rumore dei sassi smossi dalle onde leggere mi hanno riportata a quando rimanevo a farmi bagnare i piedi dall’acqua, mentre respiravo sole e salsedine.
The village and the child
I was a child when I walked down the boardwalk with my mother while we waited for dad ended his meeting. The destination was often the oldest ice cream shop that always occupies the same place, facing the beach in Boccadasse.
The church above the village holds a votive offering related to dramatic marine events, but I liked the spacious patio with sea views, which sometimes was dotted with white sails swollen by the wind.
Only fishing boats at the foot of the colorful houses that stay narrow in a context remained intact, despite being surrounded by a big city.
Boccadasse is remained unchanged as in my memories and looking it seems to have in front a watercolor paint, faded just a bit by the time.
A romantic village which has inspired writers and singers. Gino Paoli, who lived here, has dedicated the eponymous song, while Andrea Cammilleri imagine Livia, Montalbano’s girlfriend, living in Boccadasse.
Under the sea there is a site of geological and natural interest for the presence of seagrass meadows and coral formations…but this I couldn’t know when I was a child.
After so many years I saw the village and the sound of rocks moved by the waves reminded me when I stayed with my feet in the water, while I was breathing sun and salted air.
