Grazie alla della sua manager sudafricana Karen Landi e alla preziosa collaborazione di Ella23MotoGP, ho avuto l’opportunità intervistare il giovanissimo e promettente pilota Brad Binder, attualmente nella categoria Red Bull MotoGP Rookie Cup dove corre già da tre anni, nonchè già esordiente nella categoria 125 del Motomondiale dal Gp di Indianapolis con Aprilia per il team Team Andalucia- Banca Civica- Diputacion Cadiz, con buoni risultati considerando la giovane età (soli 16 anni) e il salto di categoria.
L’intervista a Brad Binder spazia tra presente, obiettivi futuri e musica ed è molto interessante scoprire cosa pensa e cosa fa un ragazzo di talento molto determinato che fa un mestiere così particolare ad un’età in cui di solito la responsabilità principale è quella di non andare troppo male a scuola.
- Brad, spiega al pubblico in poche parole chi sei e cosa fai nella vita.
Ciao io sono Brad Binder e mi piace gareggiare nelle corse motociclistiche. Tutta la mia vita ruota attorno alle moto e credo che mi abbia cambiato come persona. Sogno di diventare un giorno campione del mondo MotoGP, proprio come la maggioranza delle persone che gareggia nel mio ambito. Sono una persona che si dedica molto a ciò e mi applicherò senza fermarmi fino al momento in cui non sarò il migliore.
- Che musica ascolti prima di una gara?
Non ascolto musica prima di una gara, cerco sempre di sempre di essere pronto in tuta 30 minuti prima della sessione. Penso che mi aiuti ad impostare la mia mente per la sessione o la gara che avrò intenzione di fare.
- Brad, se tu fossi in un isola deserta solo con un mp3 e tre artisti da scegliere, quali sarebbero?
Questa è una domanda difficile a cui rispondere, ma penso che sarebbero: Lil Wayne, Nickelback e Sum41 … (so chi gli ultimi due gruppi, ma non so chi sono i loro cantanti – ah ah!)
- Qual’è la cosa più importante della tua vita per te?
Pensare di essere il numero 1 in qualsiasi cosa possa fare nella mia vita, arrivando al meglio della mie possibiltà e dando il massimo in tutto.
- Cosa farai nel futuro prossimo?
Sicuramente correrò nelle ultime gare della categoria 125 di questa stagione, e spero dal 2012 di correre nella categoria Moto3 della GP.

I had the opportunity to interview the young and talented motorcycle racer Brad Binder, thanks to the important collaboration of his south african manager Karen Landi and Ella23MotoGP.This season he raced for his 3rd consecutive year in the Motogp RedBull Rookies Cup, and was wild card in the 125cc World Championship at Indianapolis for the team Team Andalucia- Banca Civica- Diputacion Cadiz, where he obtain a very good result considering his young age, and change of category.
This interview with Brad Binder ranges between present, future objectives and music and it’s very interesting to see what a talented and determined kid who does such a “particular” job, thinks and does, at an age in which the primary responsibility usually is to do well at school.
- Brad, explain us who you are and what you do in life, with your own words.
Hi, I’m Brad Binder I enjoy racing motorcycles, my whole life revolves around bikes and I think it has changed me as a person. I dream of one day becoming a MotoGP world champion just like most people that race motor bikes. I am a very dedicated person and if I put my mind to something I won’t stop until I’m the best.
- What kind of music do you listen to before a race?
I don’t listen to music before a race, I always try and be in my suite ready to go 30 minutes before the session I just think it helps me set my mind straight for the session or race that I’m going to do.
- If you were going on a desert island, and you could bring with you an Mp3 with songs by only three artists, who would they be?
That’s a difficult question to answer but i think it would be: Lil Wayne, Nickelback and Sum41… (I know the last 2 are bands but I don’t know who the singers are – ha ha!)
- What are the most important things in life for you?
My number 1 thing in life is to be a success in whatever I may be doing one day in the future, I need to the best I possibly can be.
- What will you do in your near future?
I will be doing the last 4 rounds of the MotoGP world championship – 125s – in the 2011 season and I hope that I will be in Moto3 in the 2012 MotoGP season.
